I hit a boar with my 99 F-150 in Germany. Someone helped themselves to my kill in short order. Had a buck jump into the side of it going down the road too, darn thing was a magnet! The Buck limped away but it probably wasn’t good for it.
Glad everyone walked away from this. Always hurts a little more when the vehicle-is new.

Glad the OP is okay. Bummer about the Maverick damage.
When I lived in upstate NY, I was surprised to see how big the deer were compared to living in FL. Never killed a deer by gun, but 55mph highway speeds is definitely a murder magnet, it seems.
Had a deer cross the road at a full run that plowed into the front quarter panel of my Civic. Tore off the side mirror and came up onto my windshield, which thankfully didn't shatter. Shared the kill with a motorist that came to my aid.
Second hit was coming home from an office party one night. No idea where that deer went. Cracked the front grill, no biggie. Two weeks later, was driving home from a friend's house late at night and another deer came running full-tilt down the side of a hill. Didn't see it until it was too late. Damaged my front end the rest of the way from two weeks prior.
No car/animal encounters since moving back to Florida, although I'll hold up traffic to rescue turtles and tortoises out of the road.

Amazing the damage a large animal can cause to a vehicle ! Recently, I saw a video of a new Honda Civic that was totaled hitting a person 
The driver was not at fault though. Speaking of which, their were "6 fatal" hit and runs in Sacramento in one week, last week ! The last one two blocks from our house ! Drive safe ya'll !

Makes me want a grill gard for the Maverick....
my soninlaw worked in body shop and the worst deer hit he has had was a large suv that was 32k damage from 1 deer, air bags and led light ect add up fast

About four weeks ago a deer hit my CR-V and it was totaled. Deer hit us, we don't hit them. My plan was to drive my perfectly good high mileage CR-V until the MAV hybrid showed up. I was forced to find something and was lucky to find a new RAV4 hybrid. Picked it up yesterday. First hybrid and I really like it.
I will keep my MAV order and decide what to do when it shows up. With this crazy car market it is possible I will be able to dump the RAV4 and not take a beating. I really want a MAV. Time will tell.
Deer are a huge problem here in the Ozarks of Missouri. It's rutting season and less and less daylight each day. Not good.

Not sure where you were when this happened, but here in The Mitten State, opening day of firearms season is Nov. 15th, and so the deer are being rooted out of their normal places, not only dealing with horny bucks but also humans shooting off guns. Does can be pretty docile but it doesn't take much to trigger the flight response in a buck.
Glad it wasn't worse. I've seen antler racks go right through the windshield.
