I am a little confused.
Were the windows open a little or totally closed? Please clarify.

I do believe those Mabette rear window vents were not intended to be left in place at all times. Good for light precipitation only.

I am still wondering if the person who originally posted this had the windows open.
If the windows were open a little and water got in, I am fine with that.
If the windows were closed all the way and water gets in then they, to me, are useless. I do not want to be putting them on and off each time it rains.
Would like to know answer as I was about to order them.

I saw those and then I clicked on the picture and scrolled in and it seems when they're in if you look to the right side of the window you'll see a gap between the window and the door frame and I would think that stuff would get in there. So that's why I didn't bother ordering them

🤓 well I’ve had them in for a while now, I like how you don’t get buffeting like with an open rear window,
just open the moonroof; you'll never notice buffeting from the rear windows!

You find that funny, but your first post is hard to make sense of, to be honest. What does "I did put those insert on all four doors, so I could a little pool" mean? What is "those insert", and how do you "a little pool"?

"Those rear window vents" and "those insert" isn't very specific, and I can't read minds.
Pretty dang grumpy today aren't we.

Forget buffeting, can someone who actually has these installed answer a simple question - do they leak in rain even if window closed all the way.
The person who posted this thread (White Thunder) never answered the question if his windows were open when water came in.

There is only one position that the window can be in to use the Mabett vents, so I don't understand your question. The window must be partially open to install the vents, and if the window isn't rolled up against the vents once they're installed, they won't stay in place.

Are you talking about the Mabett window vents? I think you are talking about something else. The purpose of the Mabett vents is to be able to open rear windows. I want to know if water comes in when the windows are closed with the Mabett window vents installed

🤓 well I’ve had them in for a while now, I like how you don’t get buffeting like with an open rear window, but you can hear air flowing in. I asked about car washing and was told to take them out to be safe, I did that. The morning of March 4th (3am), the rain came down hard. Truck was sitting in my driveway. After the sun came up, I went to check if water had gotten in and yes there was some rain collected in the armrest pockets.I did put those insert on all four doors, so I could a little pool in each (just a little mind you but it was there). I do have vent shades above windows, I’m wondering what would have happened if I were driving in that down pour? 🤔
Do those result in dirty dusty interior?

The whole thread is about the Mabett vents. The OP was vague about what he was talking about at first. You can't have your windows open with the Mabett vents. They must be rolled up against the vents.

I know the purpose of the vents. I have them and use them.
