I think the issue is part compatibility with the new harness setup of the 2025 XL. From what I understand, the parts above will not plug into the new harness.

That's what I thought too. I tried looking for Ford parts and wiring diagrams, but hadn't found anything for 2025s yet (at the time that I had looked).

Interesting though, the link that Sticks provided for the wiring harness states (I put in a VIN for a 2025 hybrid, awd, XLT Maverick):

"This part fits your 2025 Ford Maverick", and

"Usage: 11/11/2024, Maverick 2022-, LHD 2WD (Front Wheel Drive), Less Assist Packages, With Power Tailgate Lock" (note that it doesn't say "2022-2024", but "2022-")

The build date of "11/11/2024" signifies it must be a Model Year 2025 (or newer) since they stopped making 2024's by then. I suspect the "2022-" means that it is some form of 1st-gen Maverick truck, since 2025 is only a facelift.

Good point, I completely missed the build date of 11/11/2024 that would coincide with 2025s. Thanks for finding this as the sites selling Ford parts did not allow me to choose 2025s yet when I last tried. Now who will be first to try this wiring harness and power tailgate lock (I 'm still waiting for warmer weather to finish other projects as I don't like spending hours working on a car in 30F or colder weather if I don't have to).

I tried ordering the parts from two suppliers but they are apparently on national backorder and both orders were cancelled.

Hey all,

First post so thought I may as well make it a fruitful one!

So yea... just coming inside from a failed manual to auto lock upgrade on my 2025 XL. Ordered the auto lock mech and the harness as instructed by several YT vids. What I learned is that not only is the camera wiring different; the harness (under the bed above the spare) is only wired for the backup camera. I have a lot going on right now but will have to try to do some research to see how far 'forward' we will have to tap into the wiring to find the signal for the power locks :(

Good luck!

Which harness did you order? Did you order SZ6Z14A412BA (appears to be for 2025) or NZ6Z14A412C (2022-2024)?

I ordered NZ6Z-14A412-C :(

I sure would like to see what the SZ6Z14A412BA looks like but I cannot seem to find a photo online.

Had purchased the old harness/power lock prior to taking delivery and went to install them today...whoops!

Do we have any idea if the prior models power lock will work?

Hello, I picked up 2025 XL 2.0 on Monday from Walnut Creek Ford in Ca. I have completed several modifications and have many more to come. The conversion from manual lock tailgate to auto lock is different on the previous models. Ford has changed the camera and the wiring so the previous Ranger wiring harness no longer applies. The latching mechanism seems to be the same, anyone have information on a new work around. Thanks for your time.

Without seeing photos of these harnesses I would be doubtful that they work. The '25 XL factory wiring loom is different than the earlier models. The '25 XL wiring forward of the spare does not seem to contain un-needed wires... for ex: tailgate lock signal wires on a XL do not appear to be present. I'll take some photos this weekend... someone please prove me wrong! Would love to add this mod.

maybe you'll get lucky with disconnecting and swapping at this location

Unfortunately, I can confirm that the auto lock wires are not present at that location on the XL. Where did you get that diagram? I would be interested to see more of that schematic.
