I believe that notice ended up being about the turn signal recall(or, recall of the recall) for a small number of vehicles.

Yes exactly, it was NOT about the backup camera's that some dealers and people assumed it would be.

And the link someone provided was to what that recall for BCM was actually about as you mentioned.

The camera recall was reported as updated now with it's own date farther out.

Therefore unless Ford had some miracle in programming and changed their farther out date to this week, that reference to a dealer estimate is them trying to say anything.

And they aren't even standing there with a stereo playing a good song!

Ford has kicked the can down the road so far with the delay after delay in getting a fix released for the backup camera issue that I am not assuming any target date for the fix, despite what anyone from Ford, or a dealer has said.

I have said it along. Ford knows what the answer is to the backup camera problem. Replace connected touch radio system with sync.
Ford doesn't want to pay the cost.

take this with a grain of salt, but i was at my ford dealer today getting service done on my escape and talking with my sales guy, who's a pretty good guy and keeps up with things going on. according to him, he was told the fix and the start sale are scheduled for april 2025. like most dealers they have a bunch of mavericks sitting on the lot that can't be sold, some already purchased. don't know how reliable the information was given to him, but that's what he knows.

me, i'm still waiting for my 2025.

Yeah, but a new control unit with higher processing power will likely fix the issue and not require much else to fix other than cleanup some code.

Sync 3 would require too many changes..you need to think about dealers doing the work. Too many steps and next thing you know the whole engine is getting replaced

Why hasn't it been done?
Far as I know. The 22-24 Lariats have the same screen and camera as the XLT and the XL
Difference being lariats have sync.

Difference being lariats have sync.

It's same screens but I recall someone showing diagrams that non sync3 system have one less or one more module. Can't remember exactly but it would be pretty involved. I guess you can search for those that upgraded to sync 3.
