Camera recall …any news [update: recall issued]

When I was a kid, I used to ride in the very back of our ‘66 Chevelle station wagon. No seat belts, back up cameras, I’m still here with “old” technology.

Doctors used to endorse smoking, and asbestos was used as fake snow at Christmas time. Pulling out the "I survived" claim is a very weak argument against advances in safety (and medical) regulations.

Has anyone confirmed if the BCM module update is specific for the camera issue or is possible that THIS fix is to take care of the phantom battery drain issue.

Interested in killer deals on a new 24 but only if it has the battery fix + AGM battery + camera fix (i doubt it will get updated CV axles - so that's still a risk) - but if the deal is good enough we may get a 24 instead of the 25 XL that we've on order that will probably show up in 2 months or so.

Anecdotal at best to one situation.
It makes about as much logical sense as saying. I drove before shoulder harnesses and airbags therefore they shouldn't have to work when I buy a vehicle.

Well , battery fix (which I assume will be a recall) along with camera are all free fixes. CV axles...well drive it like you stole it and you'll get a new upgraded set.

24 will for sure be a better deal (and looks better)

I wasn't gonna say anything, but yeah the whole "we survived without backup cameras" crew is getting old and played out, both on here and reddit

It's federal law, like it or not it is what it is, and tbh, IMO it's a good thing, even if you can back up fine without a camera, much less of a chance of someone not seeing a child or animal or something small behind their vehicle while backing up, we have the technology, and laws getting updated as technology progresses could be good.

I have a 24 and my camera works fine, lucky I guess! Hardly look at it anyway. Was brought up differently than Millenials, Gen X, Y, Z’s etc… Thank God my neck ‘swivels’.
