Their Transmission shudder issue on colorados and Canyons is what made me go to the maverick in the first place... and I dont know if they ever even really made it a recall
So what you’re saying is you have an EcoBoost and get no ‘shudder’ from the tranny what so ever, between 1100-1500 RPM, Wow, one of the lucky ones!

This is bullshit, I’m going to trade for a Colorado, which is what I planed for in the first place, or even a Toy Taco, don’t want or need this CRAP anymore! First Ford I’ve owned and now I know why I’ve never owned one previously! GM next! Let the 🔥 begin, don’t care anymore.
LOL. Bye.

And, another recall should have done but I don’t think they themselves can keep up with them! 🤔

That has nothing to do with transmission shudder...

Have you ever driven a four cylinder manual at 1200 RPM?

Many times sir, and if it sounds like it’s’lugging’ then I shift into a lower gear. I love 4-5 speed manuals, Wish the Mav had that choice. This is the first automatic transmission I’ve owned, kinda thinking now I know why I never had one in the past. But I’ll live.

And I don’t quite understand why you say it has nothing to do with tranny shudder, mine does it and if yours doesn’t, good on you!

Obviously, You have NOT looked into the current reddition, of the Colorado...
A Relative, resently returned his copy. After it spent four of his six months of ownership at the shop.
The "Final Straw" was finding the windows, rolling themselves down.. Which was after the dashboard went blank...
He has happily returned to owning, his previous rides... A Tacoma..

The reason I asked about your experience with manual transmissions and four cylinder engines is that even a manual in that situation will "sound like it's lugging" even though it is not. The definition of lugging is using a gear that is too high for the current load. The Maverick doesn't do that. Yes, there are driveline vibrations at 1200 rpm when cruising, but that isn't lugging, nor is it shudder. The Maverick only does this when cruising, under light load. If load is applied, it downshifts. If it didn't downshift under load, it would truly be lugging.

So what you’re saying is you have an EcoBoost and get no ‘shudder’ from the tranny what so ever, between 1100-1500 RPM, Wow, one of the lucky ones!
All Ecoboost Mavericks do this, including mine, and have some driveline vibration under those conditions; and the gear chosen by the transmission strategy is intentional for fuel efficiency. It is not shudder.

And I don’t quite understand why you say it has nothing to do with tranny shudder, mine does it and if yours doesn’t, good on you!
Transmission shudder is related to a torque converter issue where not enough line pressure exists to lock the torque converter clutch properly. It is a "convulsive" shaking, not at all what you experience in your Maverick. The 8F35 transmission does not have torque converter shuddering issues.

The only thing I like more than a recall is a recall for a recall. So, does this count as my fourth or fifth? Add the failing battery and failed turbo wastegate actuator, and it adds up to a lot of trips to the dealership and numerous hours spent sitting in the waiting room for this nonsense. In spite of all that, I still love this damn truck and plan to keep it. However, an extended warranty would probably be a good investment. 😬
Totally agree Redline! This truck is so much fun to drive!!

Ok, you call it whatever you want, I’m still going to call it ‘shudder’. Whether I’m cruising or just driving around town, @11-1500rpm it just doesn’t sound normal. Save fuel, early tranny failure 🤔

Turn signals who needs them, hell 75% of drivers on the road today don't even use them. I think they're not even smart enough to know where the hell the levers at, I mean look how many threads are started asking what the button is for the rear high mounted bed lights bed lights.

Give it time, Automatic Blinkers will be the next feature added to modern vehicles.
Well if the nav system is telling me to turn and the system is basically tied into everything, software engineers should be able to write a program to have an auto turn signal when navigating... Makes sense to me.

My point was that you were comparing this to the Colorado's shudder issue, and it isn't the same thing at all. You can call it shudder if you like, but it really just shows that you don't know what you're talking about.

Early tranny failure? Running a high gear at low load with the torque converter locked won't do that.
