2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid "Shadow Black" - (4k Tow, Moonroof, Job 1)

Just picked this truck up yesterday and man, I am really falling in love with it. I generally don't prefer black as a color on my vehicles as I prefer deeper rich colors and black is really boring. In order of colors for my Maverick that I wanted it was: Ruby Red Metallic, Eruption Green, or Velocity Blue. Black was not even a consideration.

However, in my search for a replacement for my Escape PHEV, I came across this special order that someone backed out purchasing. It had my wishlist of items which was the 4k tow and the moonroof with an added bonus of "Maverick" branded floor mats, only drawback was the color.

"Meh" I thought. "I'll take a look. I'm just test driving"

After arriving, I found I was doing a disservice by labeling "black" as boring, 'cause this truck looked sexy as hell with that paint job.

Long story short, I decided to trade in my faithful '22 Escape SE PHEV (on it's 3rd recall, however) and swap to this beauty yesterday. I don't think I'll be disappointed.

A BAK Revolver X4ts rolling bedcover and Rough Country bed mat are already on order.

Congratulations on your new Maverick. It looks great. The issue with black or any color for that matter is keeping it clean. I think it looks good.

I'll second that !!! And they are not that bad to keep clean as some say. Love mine.

Mine is and it seems like it doesn't take much rain to wash lots of the dust off. Not all, maybe but at least much of it.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Black was at the bottom of my color preference list. BUT mine had a really good price, really low miles, and all the options I wanted. I became a member of the SB Club. (And hit the car wash once a week.)

Congrats,Great looking shadow black maverick. This is my 22 xl ecoboost that I hand wash spring, summer and fall I get a sense of satisfaction when I'm done(Winter time is car wash).Don't listen to the shadow black haters, it's a classic color that your going to continue to enjoy after the newness is gone.

It's a great color if you have a garage or carport, which I do not. My goal is to keep the hybrid nice and cool and SB is gonna work against that goal. There's no arguing that. Garage is the key to the darker colors. Great in the winter up north too, free heat.

We also traded an Escape in on our Maverick.
Color? We didn't want to factory order so we had our dealer look at local dealers for what we wanted.
The one closest to what we were looking for was....the same Carbonized Grey that our Escape was!
One of our neighbors didn't realize we had a new vehicle because they just saw the color.
