I have wanted to purchase a Maverick since they first came out in 2022. As most of you know, Ford sold out of the Mavericks in just weeks, and the dealers were adding lots of expensive dealer installed options to drive up the price. I was able to order a 2025 Lariat $800 below MSRP on December 30th and it was built and crossed the US/Mexico border before the tariffs were supposed to be added. Two days before I picked my new truck up, Ford gave most buyers the "Ford Employee Discount" which for my Lariat was $1900.
I have put 490 non-interstate miles on the truck to break in the drivetrain and the computer is telling me I'm getting 43.4 mpg on my first tank of gas. I have been driving in the mountains of Asheville NC, and the steering and breaking has been great on the winding roads.
The attached before and after pictures show some of the adds I have installed on my truck. I wanted the "Hybrid and AWD" badges that Ford no longer installs on the truck. I think this was a cost saving decision (138,000 trucks times 2 badges times $2 each). I added a Real Truck TruXport soft bed tonneau cover, Mabett fender flares & mud flaps from Amazon. The USB picture is a $25 USB charger kit that includes a volt meter on it from "MaverickInnnovations" located on Etsy. It only took 30 seconds to install this kit. The mountain & pine tree decal I found on Amazon and ties my truck to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
So far there are only 2 things I wish Ford would do, add "Homelink" garage opener system buttons to the rear view mirror and allow me to default into "Eco Mode" instead of having to remember to reset the mode each time I start up my truck. Other than that, I'm a VERY Happy Camper.
