Good news it failed and I got a new one, bad news, looks to be the same type of battery and the warranty did not reset. Hope FoMoCo "fixed " the new lead-acid battery in my 24 Lariat hybrid,; who knows. It never failed to start in my 16 months of ownership, but voltage was always very low, even after a long trip. Will update after there is a history with the new battery. Good luck to my fellow hybrid brothers.

from what i understand warranty and recall are two different thins a recall has to resolve the issue regardless of time - where the warranty are for failing components within a time period.....

did the recall clear from your vehicle ? if so thats something using the same known defective component

cheers

I would be surprised if that cleared the recall. The free battery test was pretty much available to everyone. If you were out of warranty, Ford would charge you for the new battery. Just the test was free.

The recall will be a separate replacement and I'm willing to place money the replacement will be AGM.

There is no hybrid battery recall, which the OP has.

Suspect that FoMoCo had reason to believe my early 24 hybrid lead-acid battery was bad. Not a recall

Correct not a recall.

I'm of the understanding that the 25 hybrids have done away with the lead battery and now have a factory AGM battery installed. I'm open to correction.

Don't know, but mine was a 24 delivered Nov. 19, 2023, and was not AGM, as far as I know.

My 22 failed the battery test at the dealership (before the free test was announced) and they replaced the battery under warranty. I asked to pay the difference for an AGM battery and was told nope. Was told the new battery has a 3yr/36 month warranty on it?

Your replacement battery is covered under the same 3yr/36 month warranty that your Maverick came with.

The clock doesn't start over because the battery was replaced under base warranty.

Typical battery warranty - though I'd bet pro-rating starts earlier than 36 months on it.

But since you didn't buy it - wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

Service guy told me they’d replace it again if I didn’t get 3yr/36,000 out of it 🤷🏻

I may have missed this earlier. Is there a free battery test offer from Ford for any Maverick that is having a problem with continually going into deep sleep or were only certain owners contacted about said offer? Thanks!

Out of the blue I got an email from FoMoCo last wk recommending I take my Mav in for a free battery check. Don't know why they sent me the email, other than Ford must have suspected the battery might be bad.
