I am trying to learn my 2025 Maverick.
I printed the whole 568 pages owner manual and yet I struggle finding some information.
This is why I need you help.
I have been a mechanic on huge equipment and then a for a pharmaceutical company for over 30 years but the maverick is altogether a different beast.
Manual in hand I went to check where to connect a jumper cable if necessary.
I found the negative pole easily screwed in the frame but the positive is not (as far as I can see) where the manual says that it should be.
Where to connect the positive cable?

While I am having your attention, I have trying to find a video or picture explaining what are the different components under the hood.
Some look pretty familiar and some are total mystery, any help would be welcome.
Thank you.

The picture is not clear , It is under a red plastic protector.

What happen if you try to jump on the battery itself?

It works just the same, it's just faster to use the under hood pins, the plastic protector just flips up. Takes more force than you'd think it should, but it goes up.

Yes, it is under the RED cap, almost under the fuse box. It is 5/16" threaded rod. It looks awkward to get a regular jumper cable on. With the hybrid, you don't need high current, just enough to activate the relays. A small jumper box would be adequate.

From my understanding it could mess up the dc converter if you try jumping from battery directly. Also would be awkward having cables go through the cab. What do you do park like a T?

Here is my picture of the red cap.
Under which is the positive terminal.
The second picture is of the negative connection. Good luck

Ehhh...
12-13V is 12-13V whether it's coming from the jump points - thru the underhood fuse box - thru the cabin fuse box - to the battery - back to the relays.
Or from the battery with another battery attached - to the relays.

But yeah the potential hassle clearing off back seat to get to battery, strange parking situation with back door open (closer to Y depending on other battery location?) since no electric to roll down window.

Ya jump points for a reason, and double pull to open hood no electric required.

I don't know if you saw, the 2025 owners manual has been updated.
Revision # 2 I believe it only covers flat Towing aspect of front wheel drive and all wheel drive Mavericks.
In the old days, auto manufacturers would send out revisions in the mail. That's no longer the case now that manuals are electronically published. All revisions are done electronically now.

There is the battery "charge 'computer module's " between the negative battery post and ground on the vehicle. If it's bypassed, direct load, to the battery, it could affect the charging rate/capabilities. Future problems for you??

Looking at the Jumper spots they are pretty far apart from each other. Many Jump packs would not be able to spread that far. Just an observation.

Here's a picture my bad Schumacher jump starter with the cables in the same place they would be hooked up, if I were using it to jump start my Maverick.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most portable jump starters are pretty similar as far as how long the cables are.
I added masking tape to the negative clamp so it could be seen.
The negative clamp is hooked up to the negative body bolt. The positive is not hooked up, but is right on top of where the positive terminal is.

Yes I know the case is split on my Schumacher jump starter. I don't use it. This was just for demonstrative purposes. This is the second Schumacher where the case split, from the battery swelling.

The only figured tracked is Cumulative Battery Charge while Ignition Is On.
Well, and the Discharges.
That is old picture, currently at 10 Ah charge, 9 Discharge, 2 while in Sleep mode.

So a jump start won't materially effect those numbers for the brief second key is turned to On.

Potentially in a good way if the charge method is used instead of jump start method.
Battery will have more juice than BMS is aware, perhaps BMS would be willing to charge at higher rate for longer.
LOL, there's my joke Thursday.
