Mavericks and Bronco Sports are brought in on rail. I don't know where they go through customs.
I believe it is Nogales, AZ, Union Pacific yard.

Regarding why are not all the parts made right next to each other instead of thousands of miles apart.

Actually I think there are a lot of items with multiple parts all made next to each other.

Several years ago I read a story about the problems a spray bottle manufacturer had getting all the little pieces for their spray bottles at the right times. They make millions of spray bottles a year. They used little springs in the sprayer, the plastic tubes, nozzles, etc.

Anyway… the company built buildings all on the same road and had all the parts made right next to each other.

In Mexico, many automotive components for our vehicles are all built in the same city just like the spray bottles.

I saw on here a lot of posts about the upcoming tariffs, and I just wanted to mention that while all the posts I read exclusively mentioned the Mavericks Mexican involvement, I also wanted to tell everyone that Canada is definitely involved as well.

I work at Arconic in Davenport, IA. We make the aluminum alloys for all the Ford bodies and frames. I can tell you, without hesitation, that 90+% of all our raw or "prime" aluminum originates in Canada. I have unloaded thousands of tons from railcars myself. No raw aluminum=no aluminum alloys. We do a fair bit of recycling/reusing but at best thats 76%, and thats not perpetually sustainable. We need millions of tons a month of prime aluminum.

So, with the vehicle being assembled in Mexico, with aluminum sourced from Canada, it could be, functionally, a 50% tariff.

Not trying to be political. I am stating provable facts. Not solutions.

The tariffs not only affect the cost of the truck we want..
But look closely at who picks our crops. Migrants. I live in a state that is a large apple and cherry producers. Years ago in high school we went to pick cherries thought we’d make some easy money, we lasted 3 days.
So it’s not just the price of a new truck to think about, it’s the cost of living increasing, gas prices inflation . DJT said he would be the one to lower our cost of living.
Tariffs are pasted on to us, the consumers.
This will probably get me banned from MTC.

It’s kind of pushing me to just keep my 13 Scion tc. I pay my house off next month and just, not put myself into any more debt I guess. Sucks but reality may set in if everything doubles in prices groceries, natural gas, electric, whole shebamg,

insurance will be next, my insurance a year on house has doubled in last 3 years

cost of new construction will explode We get a large amount of the lumber we use from Canada! Plan on Canada adding a big tariff on that resource And what ethnic group do you see on most construction sites??

The 25% is being done to get two countries to change their actions/policies and they will. Those tariffs will be lowered if not eliminated sooner than later. The 10% on China, that’s to get a change in policy and to put money in the treasury and that will happen. Thats probably more long term. Couple that with lower taxes on companies willing to move here and lower taxes on folks here and you have a win here. That’s the idea anyway.

Forget the gloom and doom, the Mavericks will be coming as always with maybe a small hiccup. No need to panic for sure.

I'm still kind of believe it when I see it. Or at least believe it when it's still a thing 30 days from now.

The issue with 47 and these tariffs is simple. Has anyone read "The Art of the Deal"? Trump sees business transactions only in a "winner/loser" perspective. Which is maybe ok in real estate transactions. You pay less than the seller wants - or if selling get the buyer to pay more than they wanted - then you win. They lose. The bigger the difference the bigger the win. And it's always better to win.

International trade isn't like that. You have to look for "win/win" solutions. it's not just ONE transaction. It is thousands every day. Canada and Mexico can slap their own tariffs on US goods. Canada, Mexico and the USA can all look to replace trade with products imported from / sold to other countries.

This is the entire purpose of various trade agreements - including The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Win/Win business agreements.

But again, let's see if this is still a thing in a month. I'm inclined to doubt it will be. 47 saw what inflation did to 46.
Well said and so true. Trade agreements positively benefit both countries, where as tariffs are a specific protectionistic endeavour, and can cause inflation and substantially higher priced goods. Trade deals are made for a reason.
