Was trying to be nice...you are correct. But, battery has been fine for 3 yrs in our ecoboost.
More like weird luck maybe- First battery/charging issue was thought to be a bad battery- after the dealer replaced it, two months later the engine was almost shutting off on the freeway- Drove right to dealer and when we were looking at all the top end battery connections found a secondary lug connection completely loose from the factory. Tightened everything up and was good for 5 months then out camping 2nd battery just died completely-Now on 3rd battery and even though it seems "fine" the truck will loose interior lights when unlocked after sitting for 5 days- Putting a tender on it this weekend to top it off.

I don’t care if you have a hybrid or an ecoboost, a battery that F@$”& up in less than 3years is definitely not normal, I’ve had batteries that lasted longer than 10 years, as some here have mentioned! Is it just Ford, cause I don’t know of any of my friends that have had this problem with other newer (5yrs old or more) makes of vehicles. Not right!

Yes, this is a common problem. There are many battery issue threads on this forum. Hybrids seem to have more issues than the EcoBoosts. I have an EcoBoost and after 2 years of this nonsense, I installed an AGM battery myself. I rarely experience a battery issue but I am looking forward to the software fix coming within the next 2 months. Hopefully this fix the BMS (battery management system) so the battery issue will be solved.
Had my 2023 EB Lariat for a couple of years now. Truck came with the AGM battery and never had any battery issues at all. Even in the cold here in NJ no issues have occurred. 🤞

Good gosh, batteries for me typically last 7-8 yrs before it has to be replaced.
Maybe it's the charging system and not the battery?

I guess batteries are a crap shoot, you get a good one and I get a bad one, irregardless of the type! AGM, or flooded. Was it made on a Wednesday or a Friday? 😉

Mine has recently been displaying
" service charging system " . It still starts at 0° but I've been placing it on a charger at work and it will only show 11.8v after sitting. Now I'm wondering if my 110v inverter problem is related. They replaced the outlets but it still doesn't work. Bcm not letting it work because of low voltage even while running? Thoughts.

Update to original post. I'm retired Ford dealer tech of many years. Picked up truck from dealer yesterday. Was in for battery concern and another concern which is another post.
Battery tested good 3 times while there , by Ford test equipment . Which will slant to Ford. I know the battery is bad due to years of being a tech. As a battery gets weak voltage and CCA should drop . As the battery in my truck drops to 50 % voltage climbs, 13.8 volts. That is not good. The AGM battery is 790CCA. Testing showed 860 CCA and 12.8 Volts. I have the printout. At this point I am at Fords mercy till it dies or fails testing. I keep a jump box in my truck.
My buddy at the dealer knows it's bad but can't do anything. It is wait and see.

I just noticed yesterday that my radio times out in 30 seconds after the key is off instead of 10mins. Still starts every morning this morning was -12°

do you think this will work fine? im waiting for it to drop 50% off and il snag it if so wouldn't be a bad thing to own. I dont own any jumping devices currently, and this will add a new battery to my tools

Make sure the battery is up. next try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. If that does not work you may need to take it in.

Thank you for your reply. Ya I've been placing it on my tender. My friend is the service manager at my dealership so I get kicked to the curb. Lol. He's bringing home a battery tonight under warranty. I'll update when it happens. Best part my auto start stop hasn't worked for months. :D

...the battery has to be kept warm also...
Yes, it does. High Voltage battery will not be charged if it's below a certain temp. That's also why, in cold weather, if you're going down a hill and normally would be using regen to slow the truck, it switches to engine "jake braking." The HV battery cannot accept a charge until it is warmed up.

Good thing is; overall average annual mileage is way better than any other truck sold in the US.
