The 25% tariff (and most of his tariff threats) is a bargaining tool for Trump. He is using this to get Mexico and Canada to help secure the borders. I don't believe this will ever take affect and if it does it won't last long as both parties will participate in border security soon thereafter. JMO

I have lived in Nevada for going on 40 years now. I can tell you as a fact casinos go bankrupt. Usually they are sold and you never hear about how shaky they were financially.
I'm yay or nay on Trump. Big part of the fact that his casinos went bankrupt, was that he lost three of his key Casino executives when the helicopter they were riding in crashed. They were the brains behind the Casino operations.

this thread is very active and you may have missed it, but I commented on solutions to those issues.

#1 under-utilized existing plants due to low sales of Mustang and discontinuation of Edge.

#2 those union workers are already present.

#3 retooling is done every model year. it's much less change for an existing vehicle getting a mild refresh like the MY25 maverick, and it's a lot more work to bring on truly all-new vehicle, but it is not accurate to say 'they need to build a plant'.

Hi, The Edge was assembled on Oakville Ontario, Canada, now being retooled for F250/F350s. Didn't know it was being assembled elsewhere.

If you had a signed DORA, then your dealer sucks. A reputable dealer will not charge you for price increases made AFTER the date of order... BTW that is Ford's policy on the subject, meaning anything the dealer charges over the initial MSRP at date of order is pure profit for said dealer, because the prices THEY pay Ford is also locked in at the time Ford acknowledges the order.

Dealer keeps price increase.

I dont care about politics, tbh. my life doesn't change either way whoever in charge. I work for my money and I buy my products, this is only directly affecting me because I placed an order lol so yeah. if it does happen and im price protected, thats cool/good. sucks for people who dont pay in time.

but this is the world we are going into. we are being encouraged to invest, and not hold money, thats for sure. people who hold money are losing out bad. inflation is brutal.

myself included, I lost out gambling on investments, so I have been paying off my house. if I paid all the money towards house into stocks, id be up 10x more. but whatever.

oh yeah, im just 1.5 months of payments from paying my house off!!! 8 years into my 30 year loan.

It's an absolutely amazing feeling we finished back last August still trying to get use to it and as long as property taxes don't go crazy ( for us unfortunate backwards states that have them it will be fine) PT kinda suck but that's the word we live in I guess anyhow early congrats on your future freedom
