I am getting very frustrated.

Sometimes I have to unlock the phone for the Android auto to work. Most of the time I don't.

Mine will do that (not start up when the screen is locked) after Android Auto or the phone OS updates. I have to re-enable it occasionally. To do that you can go into your phone's settings, navigate to "Connected devices" or "Android Auto" settings, and ensure the option "Start Android Auto while locked" is toggled on.

Must be a XL/XLT issue. Ours was a traditional 500+ page Owners Manual. Guess that only comes with the high end Lariat model.

So I got this maverick not quite a week ago.
There is lot of things to learn about this truck and I am an old dog (75 in two days).
I have been working on and with computers for the last 30 years.
I am not so familiar with phones and tablets.
I got Ford pass and so on but I cannot find the Ford navigation maps on my sync 4.
I have been fighting with it probably 4 hours today and I logged in Alexa and this junk but to no avail.
Now I even lost google maps.
I need help.

Rand McNally makes good maps, I update mine every two years, never a connection problem, works without electricity, my dishwasher is able to read it usually without any problems other than needing to stop for a potty break every two hours. Did I tell you that I married my dishwasher, she also does laundry and is still working so still pays bills and the pays the cleaning girl too but hates mowing the yard.

On my phone Ford pass, they tell me that I have free Ford connect until the end of 2025.
I have an Android phone.
Yesterday I was able to have google maps on the display but not today.

I tried to upload an image several times but it did not work

When I pre-ordered my XLT, the salesman told me Ford pass was free.

NO....it's not an XL/XLT issue. All the new Ford vehicles still come with a printed manual.

No exactly they come with what Fiord calls " an additional " manual , very short and succinct. The real thing you need, as I did, to download it and then to print it, about 580 pages

Yeah, I hear you Frenchy…. but that’s not the norm. All of my last four Ford pick ups have had the small thin starter manual and then the big 500+ page regular manual. Usually wrapped in plastic. I know a lot of printers and electronics have done away with a paper manual and you have to go online to read it, but I’m pretty sure Ford is still putting the “big boy” hard copy in its new vehicles.

There is no paper manual in the 2025 Maverick. The manual is electronic on the monitor,no easy to use and to work on the display at the same time.I printed mine put in in a 3 rings binder which now has found its place behind the rar seat back rest

Here's the traditional printed Owners Manual in our 2023 Lariat. Contains 559 total pages.

French, my truck is finicky. There are days my Android Auto will pop right up on the display. Many days, I have to unplug and plug in my phone several times for it to pick it up. I understand it should work every time but I don't want to take it to the dealer for that.

It's the same for me, but it's Apple Carplay. Generally, the unplugged and re-plug fix works, but I have had times when I was stuck using Bluetooth for a day or so. It's very strange.
