A little backstory first. I ordered a @Maverick_Innovation_Designs Flexbed USB adapter with 12V display and a Flexbed 12V Cigarette outlet. Great products in terms of fitment and quality along with great packaging and fast shipping.
Unbeknownst to me, the Leer factory topper already used the factory Flexbed lead on the driver's side. I put the USB lead on the passenger side so I can charge my jump pack and tire inflator in the cubby, which left me without an outlet to run a 12V cooler. This began my search for a Flexbed Splitter. There is a place offering a splitter for the Ford Ranger, but the product appears to be discontinued.
I talked with @Maverick_Innovation_Designs who agreed to make one and sent it to me for testing. it arrived a few days later.
I had asked for a splitter with two female ends, but they understood the design parameters better than I did. After receiving the piece, this design is clearly superior. The two wire connectors directly attach to the 12v outlet and the topper plugs into the other lead. This nicely simplifies by eliminating one connector entirely (a potential failure point) and likely costs less to manufacture. And if they bundle it with a Flexbed outlet, further reduces material usage.
Couple more looks:
Nicely packaged with protective covers for the 12v leads (IMO prob not necessary given the careful shipping, but this is consistent with their quality)
Original 12v outlet.
12v connected to splitter:
Everything tucks nicely away inside the body cavity.
It works!
Finished install!
I'm not sure when the product will be available for purchase, but I'm certain they'll chime in with more info. Great option if you have the Leer topper or anything else using the Flexbed power lead and you also want install an outlet. Very pleased with everything I have received from this company. Thanks again to Maverick Innovations!
