I am hoping and praying that everyone here receives his or her order soon, because this truck is incredible!

My order was one of the very lucky ones - placed on 9/17/22, built/shipped 12/5, delivered and driven home on 1/6/23.

Ford Maverick After 111 Days - Six Impressions of my Hybrid XLT IMG_20230111_133059820

Here are my initial impressions:

1. I love the exterior appearance. Alto Blue looks great on XLT! Blue in the sun, black in the shade

2. The drive/ride is smooth and it takes turns well. The Sport Mode is awesome - feels very powerful compared to my CR-V. It feels a little stiffer over bumps and more truck-like than the CR-V. I thought I'd have to accept that hybrids aren't as zippy or fun to drive, but Sport Mode proved me wrong!

3. It's easy to get 50+ mpg on this truck. Use the EV coach to maximize efficiency; I've had short trips over 80mpg and some that were entirely electric. Eco mode and slippery mode are great for this.

4. You'll notice places where it's apparent that Ford was trying to cut costs to keep this truck inexpensive. Steering wheel feels basic, interior panels are basic, I needed to add a lumbar pillow for back support, the engine bay has some hasty electrical-tape jobs, etc. I feel like I got my money's worth, and I am glad I did not get a higher & more expensive trim level.

5. There are little things that make it feel more like a truck - the satisfying clunk that the door makes when shutting, the horn is loud, the seat is a little higher up than my previous vehicle, etc. The storage is well-thought-out, I really like the rear under-seat.

6. The headlights are very bright and spread nicely, I can see so well using just the low beams. I researched the hell out of fog lights and I really can't justify them now.

Thanks for the report and I'm happy that yours arrived 6 months to a year early.

It will be a good day when mine arrives. I bet you can hypermile in the Maverick. Fifty+ does not sound unreasonable if your trying for it. I've driven a Camry Hybrid before and got 64.

Congrats! Make me excited and jealous since I ordered the same day lol. I should have ordered last year when I knew I wanted it instead of being cheap.

I have the exact same truck and agree with you completely on the review. It was a very good decision on my part to order the 2022. I remember late night June 2021 getting a pop-up on the computer about FORD introducing a new $19,999 truck. I was probably on my third glass of wine and had a "what the hell" moment and pulled the trigger. Even with the 51 week wait I am pleased. The only change that I would have made is with the color Alto Blue. Does not even come close to matching the color on FORD's original option charts - but as they say, you don't drive the color. They snookered me on that $400 upgrade. My '23 will be red if I am lucky enough to get it built. It is an XLT EB so I will see which engine I like best. My hybrid will be hard to top though. Thanks for the review.

Thank you Reggie for your review, I did order my Maverick Hybrid Blue alto XLT luxe(54L) at Solution Ford Châteauguay Québec Canada, on November 29, 2021 and was delivered to me on August 5, 2022. Every option ordered came except for a box liner in lieu of spray in protector but was corrected by my dealer. After 5 months little over 8000 km (approx. 5000 miles) I find this little truck impresssive for is size.
I pretty well agree with Reggie evaluation, no problem with the seat the luxe option come with the electric adjustement on the driver side. Gas milage meet my expectation the EV coach you for best driving habit and on the safety side the co-pilot 360 realy does the job. I did get install on a local dealer a roll bed cover '' Retrax One XR '' that keep my cargo dry. The winter traction so far is good equiped with winter tire Brigestone Blizzak WS90 compare to my previus vehicule witch was a Subaru Forester AWD.
So far my dealer Solution Ford as been super on every aspect Sale Rep / Finance director /Service manager sorry for all those war stories posted

I have an Alto Blue and really like the color too. More often than not, most folks think it is black. Early in the morning when the sky is clear the blue really pops. I've had mine just over a year and have had no regrets at all. Great little truck!

Congrats! I placed my order then too, but I ordered a Lariat with all the toys so I’m not expecting it until next summer or fall at best. I also ordered Alto Blue and have second guessed myself for the past month. But seeing your pictures confirms that its exactly what I imagined and want. Many happy motoring miles!

Beautiful truck. I have Alto Blue Lariat ordered and it will get here - some day. Enjoy it while many of us await impatiently. Thrilled for your quick build and delivery.

The morning that my truck was delivered, I drove through the dealership and spotted 1 carbon gray '22 in for service, and 2 more fresh '23s that were both Area 51 color. My salesman had a velocity blue '22 for himself as well. After seeing those colors, I'm very happy that I went with alto blue.

Likewise, I just turned down a 22 XLT Eco I ordered a year ago (creating some good will with salesman because he wanted it). Now just hoping the 23 XLT Hybrid gets scheduled….

Great you got your Truck so fast. I ordered my Hot Chili Red Hybrid XLT Lux the same day. Nothing on a build schedule yet.
