Mugsy Malone likes his new ride:
Mugsy.jpg

He always has that serious expression but he's really a happy doggie.
Mugsy report on first trip - center cubby is too rounded and slippery to hold on to. I've ordered a cover.

Here are also some back seat protectors. I have the Amazon basic one. Don't have pets myself but never know when you might have to put some grungy item in the back seat.

That’s correct, it’s an option on all trims not standard. Plus it’s been a constrained option for quite a while.
I wish they would have made it an option in the Lux package and made the co pilot assist standard.

Didn't know the trailer hitch was not on all Mavericks. Yeah just looked at my window sticker and says it's optional equipment. My bad! I have the luxury package so I guess it was part of that.

Plus my idiot human does not slow down enough for the corners and I slide off my perch.

The tow hitch comes standard. It's on every Maverick regardless of trim level.

You can get a (2") hitch cover. (all the following items I've personally bought)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0799H42QX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

More useful stuff:

Slightly larger mirror than stock so you can see the whole back window. It isn't curved so no distortion like a wide angle.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B096VJB8XC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sunshade for the windshield. Great fit and quality.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NYN7L2T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Organizer. (Note I put a piece of 2x6 wood in the first bed slot so when I open the tailgate I can put my bagged groceries there without the groceries sliding back into the bed. The organizer fits in this space and the closed tailgate perfectly)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QDN6JPR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Center console tray. They sell a double stack one that is popular but I like this one as it gives more space underneath.

Tow hitch standard on all trims? When did that start?

Where did you get the bumper attachment that fits round the tow hitch?
OK I figured out what he was talking about. It is a Ford factory part but not an accessory. The part number is - NZ6Z-17F000-AB - you have to cut out an opening for the hitch itself ( if your truck is so equipped :) Looks very clean and SHOULD be a ford accessory with the cut out already !

Thanks for the tip but that PN seems to be for an Explorer with a 1 1/4" hitch?

I love my “hole in the roof”! With the back sliding window and the roof tilted open the breeze eliminates the need for anything else.
I guess it's thew old racer in me,, don't like the idea of adding weight high in the vehicle and degrading the integrity of the roof panel  .

I got this one cheap on Ebay a few months age, a bit wide for the EcoSport but thought it would fit the Maverick, it does:

Another useful item: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Your-Zone-Whale-Cord-Body-Pillow-Gray/842355127
Stuffs between the front and rear seats so the doggie doesn't slip into the gap.

I have a Blue Hybrid Maberick and I love it. No problem finding it in a big parking lot.

Traded in the EcoSport and picked up our new Maverick yesterday, seems a bit of an anticlimax after waiting and reading about them for so long. It's just a car - there are more important things in life!
Seems OK, it's big! Just fits in the garage with no room to spare.
EcoSport Maverick.jpg

I'll miss the EcoSport, a competent vehicle, plenty of passenger space, not much luggage space (but still more than the Maverick), main disappointment was the gas milage, looking forward to better with the Mav.
Maverick at Home.jpg

Asked the dealer not to install the front license plate holder. Front end looks good.
Atlas Blue.jpg

Clunky looking tow hitch, I didn't order the tow package - I guess it came with the Lux package. Happy to find it didn't come with a hole in the roof (moon roof), hate them.
Desert Brown interior and bronze highlights not as bad as I thought it would be.
Maverick Family.jpg

Wife likes it because it's Blue, Mugsy dog likes it because he thinks we are going somewhere, he'll get his chance to get hair all over it soon!
I've got to keep it for six months (A plan purchase) we will see how we get along.
Congratulations
