We put on a rough country 2 inch lift kit on the maverick around 7/1/2024 and the ride quality, comfort, and handling of the truck has gotten better ever since the lift.

We put bigger tires we went from a 225/65R17 and upgraded to a 245/70R17 all terrain tire. The only thing that has really changed was the mpg we have been driving it around in town and out and we average around 20 mpg in town and 24 out on the highway.

We live where we’re constantly going on rock roads, dirt roads and every now and then into a field and the truck does an amazing job at tackling these adventures. The truck is not just a pavement princess she can get the job done out in the field.

For every post about a lift, there is a post about cv axles breaking! 😂

To the OP truck looks great. I think the 2” lift and larger tires are the perfect addition the Maverick. Just won’t be an addition to my Maverick.

Do the people who lower their trucks have CV axle issues? Or does that somehow not affect the geometry in the same way? I’m totally ignorant and am asking honestly.

Truck looks fantastic! And I agree that the utility of the Maverick is much improved with the added ground clearance.

You have a cv axles failure yet?

And when it happens, let us know, it's inevitable.
Nope no cv axle’s failures, 1 month in and no problems with the truck. Rides perfectly and when it happens I will make sure and let everyone know.

No lift on mine, yet at only 21k miles the dealership noticed a leaking front axle. I only have oversized tires- the 245 70s as well, however that won't affect the angle of the axle. No doubt that a lift will increase wear on those components, however the quality of the axle and it's surrounding parts are definitely questionable. I've seen other members in a similar boat who don't have a lift. Hopefully a good quality aftermarket manufacturer will release some tougher, more quality components. I too wanna eventually add a 2-inch level lift, or maybe 1 inch.

Love the look! I put a Superlift 2.5" lift on with a few hundred miles on it and at 25K I notice grease from the right CV boot. No other symptoms of a failing CV joint, just the grease. I have an appointment the middle of August and will see what the dealer says.

I've had my Rough County 2" lift for a year and a half, and about 20k. My right boot is leaking but no clicks or pops yet. I went with 265/65s I got 27mps average on the highway from Houston to southern Ohio, and back on my last road trip. Your truck looks great. The lift will settle some but not that much. Also, be sure to check the torque on everything at about 500 miles, I wasn't going to but I'm glad I did. There were 5-6 bolts that were not to spec when I checked. Only about a quarter turn but enough that I thought it could have been a problem had I not checked.

I'm not sure the reason for the lifts except of ground clearance which isn't an issue with the truck on roads. I would expect there to be more issues rather than benefits from this. Wouldn't this also effect sway bar end links somewhat or is all that not affected at all?

Might be inevitable on stock, too. Both of mine got replaced at 20k miles. Stock suspension, larger tires.

Mine started the rumble at 20k miles. Currently at 27k and got replacement axles coming in the mail and will replace them next week. Going to dissect them and hopefully see what the problem is. Will post my findings.

What does it feel like when it failed? Like a rumble as in what you would feel going down a bumpy road?
