2025 Hybrid AWD lifted on 245/70R17

I bought 17x8 rims with a +35 offset. They are very light at 20lbs. Really like them for my charcoal. Im going to gamble on having them mount the 255/65/17s. Undecided between the cooper and the nitto. Have to make up my mind tonight. Also installing the 1 inch front leveling kit. Im going to cut it close! But i read somewhere in here someone put them on a stock truck and only rubbed a little. So i am going for it specialy with the front lift. I guess i can always put spacers if they dont

If it does rub, it will be because of the 35 mm offset. On stock 37.5 mm offset wheels, 255/65R17 won’t rub on an awd ecoboost.

Yup, and truthfully I'd probably go with a larger offset, esp if you want to use flairs.

I have a stock offset aftermarket wheel, adding RC flairs and 1.25 spacers with 245/65-17, next tire set will likely be 265.

I also have a lift.

Ben your set up sounds interesting send some pics please. I should be receiving the wheel and tire pkg Monday. We'll see how the 255s work with the 1 inch front lift. 35 offset actualy equals stock offset with 8 inch rims compared to 7 stock. Im exploring a new frontier with this set up. But yes if they rub first option is wheel spacer and if still rubs then would have to go with the 1.5 HR spring lift

when you're much larger than stock it really pays off to take careful measurements. tall tires can foul in particular places when you turn the steering to full lock and this can happen whether they're wide tires or closer to stock width but on different offset, or just really freaking tall lol.

it can be challenging to test at full suspension compression because it's not moving the same if you were to unbolt the control arm and bottom it out, and otherwise it's pretty hard to load or lift one corner enough to check clearance at full compression.

and then we have the issue of people with oversize tires not being entirely truthful. (I am not saying this about Phimosis or anyone else specifically, I've just seen it repeatedly.) 'no rub' under questioning becomes 'only rubs a tiny bit at full lock' and so on.

I put 255/65R17 Wildpeak AT4W’s on my FX4 Maverick in my first week of ownership.

I only ran it for 2 months without lift.

During that time I took it on fire roads and unpaved county roads to try to get it to rub. I tried it in forward, reverse, full lock, diagonally crossing corrugations, or wash boarding, side hilling and crossing ruts, to try to fully flex the suspension. And I had zero rubbing. None.

With that said, I was in my first months of Maverick ownership and I was learning what it was capable of doing and where its limits are. Now that I have owned it for a year with a 2” lift on it, I can say that I have pushed it harder than I did during those first 2 months of ownership, doing things like the Pismo Dunes, Rowher flats OHV trail and Hungry Valley SVRA.

If I had run my Maverick this entire time without lift, would I have ever got tire rub? Possibly.

But I didn’t get any tire rub during the time before lift (or after getting it lifted) and I did do multiple trips off-road.

That’s the full disclosure. And I have no reason to conceal any rubbing. If it did rub, I’d happily say that it did.

2nd, do these take factory lug nuts, guessing these are conical lugs?

3rd, are you using hub ring? Guessing center bore is not 100% match.

From everything I’ve ever seen on this forum it’s 255/65 r17 though the most common for going bigger is 245/65 r17.
