Ew.

Vertical screen.

Welp, cross the new design of my interest list.
Agreed. This obsession with vertical screens (and the elimination of physical controls) is not for me. I could get behind a 12" horizontal, eliminating the cubby.

To quote Montana, Ew, vertical screen. Hard pass.

I have absolutely no interest in a 2025 model but knowing Ford, now that I've said that they'll probably do something devious like offering Eruption Green and an ST model.

They had a good design with the new Escapes but removed most the physical controls, thus making it a terrible design. GM also had a great design integrated with Google maps, but for some dumb reason put headlight, fog light and interior lighting options behind 3 menus in the infotainment screen.

Why is this such a hard concept to grasp from auto manufacturers? We don't want our lighting controls in menus inside menus in a touchscreen, we don't want massive vertical screens consuming the interior, we do want physical controls for HVAC, and no piano black shiny cheap plastics.

It's really not asking much and the majority have agreed on this for years now.

I'm willing to overlook a lot of things, but these things are not any of them and will completely turn off any interest in potentially great models.

The spy shot is far from clear, what are the chances it could be a laptop or other test screen to display telemetry? Of course, the Ranger having one already does diminish that possibility quite a bit.

Was really hoping for just a longer horizontal display to fill the cubby that would be backward compatible.
