Hey there, fellow Maverick enthusiasts!
I just had the most epic adventure with my hybrid, and I couldn't resist sharing it with you all. I embarked on a mission to bring home a whopping 2 tons of rock (4 trips) from Home Depot, and let me tell you, this little truck handled it like a true champ!
  • Trips: 4 to Home Depot
  • Load: Half ton of rock, flooring, tools
  • Max Payload: First trip with a passenger
  • Mode: Tow/Haul for max power
  • Fuel Efficiency: Impressive 28 MPG with max payload
  • Other trips averaged a jaw-dropping 38 MPG
  • Ride Quality: Smooth sailing all the way!
  • Power: Maverick delivered plenty when needed
  • Tailgate Warning: New chip = watch out for rocks getting jammed between the bumper and gate!
  • Dash: Unfortunately, no snapshot, but it's amazing!
If this baby stands the test of time, mark my words, it'll go down in history as my all-time favorite vehicle. The Lariat Hybrid has won my heart, and I can't wait to see what else it's capable of.
So, fellow Mavericks, let's share our tales of adventure and conquest! If you've got any rock-hauling stories or Maverick experiences to share, I'm all ears. Let's rock this forum with our Maverick love!

Stay adventurous

Nice I may have overdone it a bit myself and loaded it up for 3 trips. Still way to go!

I made this mistake before... with my Saturn Vue. It wasn't until I got home and looked at the side of the vehicle I realized how low it was riding.

Nice! I’ve hauled plenty of heavy payloads with my Hybrid and it always does fine. Just be careful with the tire flex if you do this a lot. Might be worthwhile to get some tougher tires.

Great job and not surprised the Mav came thru. They always seem to do what is needed. Next time, I would put something (padding, old blanket, etc.) at the back end and find a way to tape or otherwise attach to tailgate to cover up that crack so that rock chips would stay out. Continue letting the Mav impress you. It will not fail.

Good to see you did it well. I usually try to pick stone I will use around my 28 acres and buy it by the dump truck delivered. Upside = cost is 1/4-1/5 /ton than that of bagged and it's easier. Downside = dump has to be able to get where you want to store excess and since delivery fee is a trip charge a full load is 15-18 tons. I am getting close to buying loads of sand, decomposed granite, and some size/type of hard rock. Rain water 20k gal storage tank has priority though followed by greenhouse.

Nice! I just got a few loads of pea gravel myself, definitely had a bit of sag so I added the Timbren SES that a few people here recommended.

Great review and I share the love.

Have now hauled 1k+ lbs of rock multiple times in my hybrid Mav. I could only tell it was back there when trying to take corners at speed because I forget about the weight.

3/4 ton capacity. A few more. Figuring 12 bags @ 50#. Bed liner comes in handy. What is it.?
