I checked, my tailgate is level with my bed.
You must have stretched the cables ?
No, do a search and you will find this was an issue during the first couple of years production. Got my truck 10/15/21, so have some history with recalls and production problems.

just loaded up my XR400R and it is ready to be delivered to its new owner. Very easy to load and it is a fairly short motorcycle. Was even able to adjust the tailgate to "plywood mode" later on

As promised, update with all of the details requested. Craig, you sound like you have hands on experience in a fab shop, and this should be well within your capabilities.

The following is an attempt at a ‘CYA’ header covering all the necessary facts, and containing a little humor. Can’t claim it is all original content, a lot was extrapolated from other sources, credited if known, and edited to suit my needs. It has evolved over many years, and will continue to change as circumstances dictate. Hope that folks will read it, smile, and maybe take a moment to think about what it implies regarding how our world and standards are changing.

Do suggest to others reading this, it is not an easy project if you don't have the tools and knowledge required to fabricate something like this.

Please be advised I am only telling you what I did and used, all of the welding was done by a certified professional welding shop. While I did most of the assembly and some part of the fabrication, I do have a well equipped personal shop and years of experience using my tools. I take no responsibility for any of the information provided should you attempt make a similar setup, and have any issues.

This project has had no loss of life or serious injuries to man nor beast, to date, and works for only me. There was very little loss of blood from mishaps during the process, but there were many instances of pain, and profanity, your results may vary.

Cost? Materials, labor and sanity, if you have to ask. . . . . . . well, it's like asking a lady her age.

Thank you. . . . . . . . . .hpdl (herr professor doktor lesmeister)🧐

The Maverick does a great job hauling my Honda Transalp. I expected the tall windshield to buffet at highway speeds but it's dead smooth. I continue to be very impressed with this little truck. The bike is 460lbs dry. With accessories and fuel it's likely sitting at 500lbs in the photo. The independent rear suspensions rides nice empty and handles a load with very little drop. I'm still sitting slightly high in the rear.
Yep.

I just go back from 3 weeks on my Maverick/Transalp setup from Oregon to Nevada. I used 1" marine plywood, sealed, outdoor carpet, through bolted to the front tie downs, e-track, pack out mounts, and a front wheel chock. Straps for additional tailgate support and tie down in the rear. I used the ready ramp, which worked well and is very nice quality. I added Airlift bags in the rear. I had locking system in combination with putting the top row inside the cab as needed. No wind noise and I had it over 100mpg in Nevada. It cruises nicely at 75-80mph. I'm flying the wife down over Christmas break to pull it out of the storage unit and do Zion, Bryce, Moab, Grand Canyon, and to Arizona for storage until spring. Then the adventure continues all the way up to Alaska at some point. I'm having too much fun to bring everything home just yet!

Fantastic!

Love the travel details, capabilities, custom decking with Milwaukee packouts, ramp, and that tailgate mounted tie down point on e-track....

Amazing side pic of the truck, all clean and loaded up.
These photos should get more votes.

Loaded up the lady and looped through southern Utah with the Maverick/Transalp. Amazing country! The setup did great!
