Yet Another X-Plan Question

I would hold on to your PIN for X-plan until you purchase. I ordered from one dealer and gave them my PIN, but when they were evasive about signing a purchase agreement, I started worrying about add ons and went looking elsewhere.
I found a declined customer order in shipment at another dealer and they agreed to a purchase agreement right away. Day of purchase I had to call the first dealer to have them release the PIN. Thankfully they did so, but it could have been a real hassle.
The manager gave me some grief about abandoning my order and it affecting their allocations. I was very clear about why I went elsewhere.

Is there such a thing as an X-Plan order or is it enough to print out my PIN and take it to the dealer at the time of purchase/delivery?

Retail vehicles can be ordered "X-plan" rather than retail, but I don't really think that that means much. It doesn't have to be ordered that way to be eligible for the X-plan, but you do want to make sure that your dealer is willing to accept it.

For what its worth my dealer said i get both the x plan price and the farm bureau discount.can’t hurt to ask

Check out the small print on the Ford site, and it specifically says the X plan and the Farmer's Bureau cannot be used together. You never know what will happen, but be aware.

Another source for X plan is membership for 90 days in Veterans Advantage.

I signed up with Mustang Club today for $35/year. Got my membership code and entered that on the Ford Partner website. I have my PIN and printed everything for documentation purposes once my truck arrives.

My thoughts behind doing this:

My order is yet to be scheduled for production. If scheduled this week, production would be the week of 4/18/22. With an estimated shipping time to my dealer at 4 weeks, puts the arrival date around 5/16/22. If my math is correct 2/13/22 to 5/16/22 is 92 days time, ultimately establishing the 90 day membership required prior to date of sale.

When do I need to identify myself as a participant?
You are OBLIGATED to identify yourself as a Partner Recognition participant at the time you first visit a dealership. Not providing this information to your salesperson up-front, may jeopardize your ability to obtain a vehicle using the Partner Recognition Program.

If you haven't mentioned you are a plan participant, you may want to reach out to them to a) find out if they are honoring X-plan on the Maverick, and b) let them know you are a participant with a PIN you intend to use.

are you a digital member? also do you get an immediate pin? BUT to use it you have to wait 90 days correct?

I joined the club as a digital member and have yet to get a membership code, unless it's the invoice number. How much later did you get your membership code? Thanks so much.

I signed up as a digital member and I received my PIN very shortly after. I had to go back and check the emails since this was almost 6 months ago. I received my PIN 7 minutes after sign-up with MCA. Yes, to use it you have to be a member for minimum of 90 days.

The above is correct. And the PIN is good for a year. I mentioned I am a Partner Recognition Participant to the GM.

I went into the dealer on Friday, because I saw on my A/Z-Plan website that they had two new deliveries of XLT Mavericks (including one hybrid). They wanted $10,000 over sticker, and wouldn’t sell at A/Z-Plan price unless I ordered new.

My dealer informed me that they would still honor X plan even though I didn't tell them when we were ordering. Its likely a dealership level call on that one.

Might have been due to me letting them know when I did become eligible, since a lot can happen in a year of waiting.

Ultimately it's up to the dealer on whether they choose to participate in the program or not, on any given sale.

The reason for the quote from the program rules is that with a Plan purchase, the price is fixed, there's no negotiation. So you're expected to identify yourself as a Plan participant to inform the dealer you'll be buying at the set price (if you complete a purchase). It's a set purchase price and a cap on doc fees. Otherwise you get into negotiation and say well actually, I wanted to use X-Plan.
