Your dealer or a locksmith with the proper equipment for replicating keys has to do it. Why won't your dealer do it? There are a number of videos on youtube about how the dealer needs to use their software to program it and apparently it only takes about ten minutes

First, I believe the one you linked is for vehicles with remote start on the key fob, which the XL doesn't come with, so you will want the other one (keypad without remote start).

fIREDON: DO YOU HAVE AS "KEYPAD" code card in you glove compartment? You should it willl give you a master keypad code. It will be a five digit number. Sit in your Maverick start engine. Now play with the infon screen until you seen how to use keypad nd follow instruction. I tried to follow instructon on psge 79 of hand book. but didn;t know about ford pass code. found in glove compartment one day. Son and I was playing with screen and found instruction on dash screen for keyless entry keypad. Good Luck.

So we need a part! to enable the wireless key pad? Yikes! Why make it so difficult?
That's the part number for the correct key pad......

There are 2 key pads. One for vehicles with remote start on the key fob and one for vehicles without.

OP linked the keypad for remote start vehicles, which XL doesn't have.

Second,

Has anyone confirmed this? He's using the old style keypad which is not compatible with the Maverick whether it has factory remote start or not. There's a completely new part for the Maverick which I believe has to be programmed by the dealer.

I don't think this is how it works. My dealer will not install it and told me I'd need Forscan to do it. Unless someone who has Forscan does it we're in the dark.

Everything I'm reading about the new style keypad is that Forscan does NOT have the ability to program it. I've seen accounts where dealers don't even know how to program these new keypads, your dealer is probably an idiot.

Watch this video, this guy had to go to his Ford dealer, the site that he references FAROUTRIDE is showing directions for the OLD style keypad which is not compatible with the Maverick, yes, you could program that yourself but the new style has to be done by Ford.

You can tell the old vs new keypads by: Old: numbers are diagonal from each other (Not compatible with Maverick) New: Numbers are directly adjacent to each other (IS compatible with Maverick) Also, be advised that there are two (2) versions of the new style keypad, one for vehicles with remote start which use a higher frequency I believe and one for without factory remote start which I believe use a lower frequency.

You’re right, Ford said that was too easy and made it 100x more difficult. Some one will need to confirm if the Maverick can be done with the old easy trick. I’m betting the video below is how to do it now. 👎

I believe it has more to do with the encryption methods used so nefarious people can't more easily duplicate transmitter codes. It's actually kind of a good thing I guess. The sad thing in the video is that with the REAL ford software that dealers have, it literally takes about 2 minutes to do so a good dealer won't charge more than maybe 20 bucks

I understand it. I just don’t think it will stop anyone. Thief’s are always 10 steps ahead of any counter attempt.

I agree it should $20 or free with purchase of the truck
