Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Value is in the eye of the person paying the bill.

XL/XLT/LARIOT get whichever one suits your situation.

MY OPINION of value should have NO bearing on your choice. I purchased the trim level and options I wanted, not what anyone else wanted. Therein lies the value - it's what I wanted and could afford.

I wanted the Lariat because it had things I have come to expect in a vehicle from my last vehicle. I wouldn't even consider the XL or XLT

Depends on what you need. I have a 22 xl w no cruise control or hitch but I do have a sliding window. Not having cruise control was never a big deal to me and I don’t regret my choice. Even if I would have gotten a 23 xl with cruise, chances are I wouldn’t use it during road trips. As far as the steelies go, that was an easy fix at Americas tires. I’m also a cheapskate who wanted to save a couple thousand dollars.

I ordered the XL with AWD, 4k tow and CP360. I felt the XLT price difference wasn't worth it after the 2024 price increases. The only thing I wanted was the alloy wheels and I was able to buy a set of XLT takeoffs from a member here.
I bought my XLT specifically for the available packages. I really wanted a moonroof and sliding rear window. You can't get a rear slider without the lux pack anymore. Also liked the fx4 rims.

If I was ordering again today I'd get the xl with a tow package and forgo the moonroof and rear slider. They are nice but not necessary. Same with fx4 because I'd rather have eco and sport mode. 4k is a lot of bang for the buck. The only other things I'd add would be a full sized spare and keypad.

A friend of mine took delivery on a '24 XL and I recently got my '24 XLT with BAP and lux upgrades (it was not the one I ordered, but it was on the lot and I said "sold!" My order is still not on the build schedule, for Pete's sake). We met up and he's wishing he had mine, despite the price difference. I have everything I wanted in a Maverick hybrid and it still came in at a good price. YMMV

I could afford a Lariat Tremor, but prefer a hybrid XL. 🤷‍♂️
(a lot of times I choose my meal based on price, when eating out, too - I'll cut you off - "life is short" right? Exactly. The more money I save and invest, the sooner I retire)

I did add power locking tailgate, bed cubbies, and about to add ACC (something not available on an XLT Lux even). Prefer my cloth seats, but would like lumbar (which I could also add, but so far the seats are comfy).

I wanted a cheap, high-value vehicle with great MPG.

Same here but I'm selling my 2022 XL Hybrid (11,8xx miles, Co-Pilot 360, Hitch, SIBL) that I added the cruise switches and programmed, Tail Gate Power Lock and Front and Rear FoMoCo Mud Flaps) because my 2024 XL Hybrid (same options without power tail gate lock and mud flaps, to be added soon) just arrived today. Can't beat the XL. For sale in Market Place.

I think at resale people don't care what you paid ,they only care how little they can get the truck for and bells and whistles come second. Example used maverick xl 25,000 or xlt 27,600.
Used XL $25000? I just priced mine for possible sale-it is a 23 EB AWD(nothing more) 1500 miles will give me $28700-cash--so that is wholesale-I would say retail-about $33K (In Va-anyone want to buy??)

There is a price difference of almost $2600 between an XL and an XLT with nothing added. The only difference I see is wheels, rear armrest drink holders, change in color of certain pieces and the ability to add options. Is there anything significant I missed? I was considering upgrading order to an XLT but don’t see the value. Either one would be no options other than CP360 and hitch.
My biggest issue was that I did NOT want a black vinyl interior!

If I bought an XL I would have done several things to upgrade the interior, and I would have upgraded the rims and tires because I don’t care for the steelies, and, to be honest, I wanted the ability to order/add features since I don’t plan on buying another new vehicle.

I ordered exactly what I wanted, and my choices may not align with other ideas.

if you are on a tight budget, go with the XL and only add “what you need”.

if you want to keep it and make it yours, I would go with the XLT.

As I usually say, got to the Ford Website. Build both, and see what will work best for you.

For teen daughter. Will go to college with her. Only needs so many features.

Power mirrors and fancier wheels weren't enough to spend $2600 more for the XLT over my 2023 XL. Once I set the mirrors by hand I've never touched them and you can certainly buy better aftermarket wheels for less money than the wheels that come with the XLT package. If you hit a curb with an XL steel wheel you can hammer out the bent section. Can't do that with an XLT alloy wheel. A power lock for the tailgate might be useful to some but I never lock mine. I keep nothing of value in my bed and wouldn't want someone to cut up my tonneau to see what's hidden from view.

Prices are regional and even they vary. You ask 10 people and you will get 12 answers. We can all pretty much agree the XL is the value leader but not everyone wants a XL so for me the XLT is worth the extra money. I did own a Lariat but sold it so looks like the XLT is the Maverick in my comfort zone.

Resale is anther story and not going to pontificate about value, it's only worth what someone will pay on any given day. Some days the elevator and some days the shaft. :)
