How do you like the Avs hood protector? It looks like it stands off the hood? Do you have a picture of it from a more sideview angle?

I like it. Never had one before but I did get a small rock chip on my hood so I’m giving it a shot. It does stand off of the hood and not stick on. That’s why I picked this one. The fasteners that came with it are garbage and had to use different ones but other then that it’s good.

This is where I got it. It is not stick on. Uses plastic fasteners in factory holes.

Autozone. Any auto parts store should have a little rack of them.

You know, I just realized that (when viewed from front 3/4s view) the bug guard (the subtle curve on the outer corners) reminds me a bit of the longhorns on a longhorn bull... Maverick indeed!

Ya I add pvc insulation to them. There’s no tension adjustment on this one and it would still kinda bubble and flap no matter how tight I got it. This takes up some of the slack and made it way better. For mine at least.

I noticed that too. Did it help with the noise? I suggested that in another post to someone complaining of the flapping noise. Did that on a Jeep soft top years ago, and it really helped.

I only even noticed noice before like once of twice. It was mostly the fluttering in my rear view. But definitely haven’t heard it since and it’s way more solid now.
