Would you buy used?

Sent in an order for a maverick, in two different dealers and I'm still impatient. No response as far as schedule or even an order update. So I see a '22 XLT AWD for sale with 12k miles. Its off a lease and looks really clean, has all the things I would have put on an XL but the carfax says there was an accident reported. I don't like taking over other peoples problems but I really want a truck now. The past 5 cars were all brand new. What do you guys think.

I never buy used. I don't like buying the unknown. A lot of people abuse their vehicles. At least with new you have the factory warranty.

I did buy used.

But I'd never buy one with an accident report. Insurance is a joke now days and resale value goes right out the window regardless of how small the accident may have been. If it's on the record, RIP your resale and RIP your insurance cost. That's how it works now days.

Also, I'd never buy anything over a '22. Regardless of what we HOPE they fixed or addressed, they removed features and charge more. Maybe it's not as bad on lower models, but certainly for a Lariat.

I would never buy a vehicle with any accident history.

Ordering any high demand vehicle requires willpower, patience and willingness to wait to get what you want - instead of settling for somebody else's cast off with dubious history.

The only good reasons to buy a used vehicle are if it’s out of your reach financially to buy new or used is the only way you can get it because there are none that are new.

I would buy a used car only with a couple of conditions.
Original owner
All service records
All manuals and keys.
If it was in an accident I want to see pictures of the damage and the repair receipts.

I keep everything with my cars. I have every receipt (keep in a folder), even down to things like wiper blades. When I sell the car, they go with the car.
Also if buying from a private seller, check out where they live. If they don't maintain their homes, they won't maintain their cars.

Just went to see that 2022 today. Some damage to the front bumper and mirror. Previous owner put a bunch of carbon fiber overlay on the interior(not a fan), the back interior door panel was rashes up like use the bed for big things not the back seat. Just didn’t get a good vibe from it. Although the heated wheel and seats were awesome lol.
But Yeah I’m just gonna wait it out for the 2024.

They showed me the print out but doesn’t say the extent of damage. I did see a sticker for a local repair shop in the window.
I passed on it anyway.
Loved the Aera51 color though

Yes . I would buy used . price , condition , and still have some 3/36 warranty left . I personally have had better luck with used vehicles than new .
