I traded my 23 xlt hybrid lux in today at 11,600 miles. Noisy dash, damper noise when cold, rumble strip vibration(likely tied to damper). Customized it and it is probably one of the nicest out there. I liked it okay, was only impressed by the mileage, tbh. I went back to a full size truck, a 24 F150. It is what it is and I don’t regret buying. It was a one time deal for me. Over hyped for sure.
You don't sound like you were in the target market for the Maverick and I don't think it could have done anything to meet your expectations, conscious ones or not. I say this simply because the F-150 and Maverick are going after two entirely different consumers.

No. First price jumps, my configuration today is 9$k more than in 2022 and simply isn't good enough of a vehicle to demand the price. Second, way to many recalls and issues with the Maverick. Ford is slowly, very, very slowly, dealing with issues now that they are into the fourth model year. Simply not fast enough to earn any trust with the brand. Third, Ford dealerships are crazy busy because of all the problems with their vehicles over the past 3-4 years (most recalled brand, year after year). Fourth, as another poster mentioned used vehicle prices have started to come back down to slightly saner levels.
Agreed. The Maverick was great at its original price points but the price it is trying to command now is ridiculous. My truck configured as a '25 model year is $32K when the inflation adjusted price, from when I purchased mine, should put it at $25.5K.

Ford got greedy!

As for service centers being behind. That is with every manufacturer at every dealer. The industry is bleeding technicians. The good ones are retiring and there aren't enough coming into the industry to replace them. Why? They see dealers charging $200+ an hour for their labor and they are getting ~$25 an hour. So they go and open their own independent shops or leave the industry.

In a 90 mile radius around me there are maybe 5 technicians who can work on Ford's hybrid and BEV systems.

We can only blame the people who were dumb enough to pay those $10k-15k markups, Ford saw people were willing to pay and they wanted to cash in. If I was in a business where people were willing to overpay for my work, I would take advantage of it too. Of course not all of us were suckers, I wouldn't pay the markup then and sure wouldn't pay it now. This wasn't exclusive to Ford, all the brands have done it. I only know because I was cross shopping the Maverick with other vehicles in the same price range, and they have all jumped $8k-10k. Some of it is increased labour, shipping and parts costs (all due to labour costs in the end), and as you noted the rest is pure greed.

As for shop techs, yeah I get where they are coming from, how vehicle techs are paid is practically theft. How that system is still allowed is beyond me, of course the same lobbying that prevents brands from having their own dealerships likely has a lot to do with it. Going to tech/mechanic forums and you'll see many are making the jump into heavy industry for much better pay than they could even get running their own shops. That said, the local Ford dealerships are the worst by far.

As for finding independent techs, other than Maverick Hybrids I've seen very few Ford hybrids of any sort in my area. I've seen a few first gen Escape Hybrids (no current gen) and Maverick Hybrids, that's it. Most hybrid owners here have Toyota models, and a growing number of Hyundai ones. One would be hard pressed to find an independent Ford Hybrid tech here sadly. The only thing going for hybrid owners is that typically the Hybrid techs are the better trained of the lot. Of course for most visits you don't get the hybrid tech, unless it's required.

I'd buy my 23 XL hybrid again in a heartbeat. It's the perfect truck for my needs. I'm not planning on trading in too soon, maybe for the next generation whenever that is, or if anyone finally comes out to compete with the hybrid mavs.

Might but I'm only at 31,000 miles, like to keep it for 6 to 8 years to save up for another vehicle, car payments are not in my future, Lord Willing, this will last that long. My prayers are that Toyota gets their act together and builds something a tad smaller than the Tacoma, like the old Hilux. Missing the compactness of the Nissan XE pickup, "The Camel Yawns and the Caravan Moves on."

They seem to have held their value pretty well. New ones are so much more expensive than our '22 model year that our values haven't fallen much. There was someone who recently was on the forum that sold their truck for what they paid a couple of years ago.

Definitely not in Fl. When I bought my Lariat last March I checked Carvana and CarMax and they were only offering $31k on my $37k truck with only 1000 miles on it. Now my truck has 33k miles and Carvana offered $22k. I'd say the market is dropping bad, at least here.

With the average new car price more than $48k spending 20% less than that on a fully loaded Maverick is still a good value relative to the market.

The $26k starting price still makes it one of the most affordable new cars on sale unless you want to slide into a Kia soul, forte, or Hyundais sister vehicles you aren’t getting into a new vehicle under $20k.

I leased an early 2022 and even with all the recalls and foibles, I love my little Maverick - my lease ends Jan 2025 and I will be buying, BUT with an ESP and windshield coverage, along with wheel and tire coverage...but, YES!!!
Don't forget to get the headlight package also.

Im going to look at a 24 XLT tomorrow and just wanted to ask that simple question.
We have gone through Maverick purchases four times:
  • The 2022 XL Hybrid was ordered in July 2021 and purchased in August 2022. I didn't like the Hybrid system, so I sold it and placed a new order.
  • The 2023 XLT EB AWD XLT was ordered in August 2022 and purchased in January 2023. I currently own this Maverick and would repurchase it with some caveats, which I will go into below.
  • My son borrowed mine, and he liked it so much that we ordered a 2024 XL Hybrid (he needs the fuel economy). Yet, the correct configuration was available at Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas (@fordvideoguy) as a 2023 XLT Hybrid (for about the same MSRP as the 2024 XL Hybrid), so we bought it. We didn't cancel the 2024 XL Hybrid order.
  • My wife tried to take my 2023 XLT EB AWD. She doesn't like the interior of the XLT or Lariat. Thus, we decided to buy the 2024 XL Hybrid if it was scheduled and delivered. Once again, Long McArthur had what we wanted, but the 2024 XL Hybrid we ordered hadn't been scheduled yet. Thus, we returned and bought another Maverick off the lot from Long McArthur Ford for my wife.
My wife let our daughter borrow her Maverick. She loves it so much that we let her buy it from us. I would have replaced it with another Maverick, but we ended up leasing a Mach-E for her instead.

My son and daughter love their Mavericks. I like mine. Yet, my complaint with the Maverick is that I don't need the crew cab configuration but need or want a longer bed. If I could sell my Maverick (with many modifications) for a reasonable price, I would order a new F-250 with a 6-3/4 or 8-foot bed.

Otherwise, the Mavericks we have continue to be the right solution for nearly all our needs.

I sold my 24 Lariat Hybrid w/BAP 2 weeks ago to carmax... my 25 has a build date of 11/20. Thankfully for me, I have a "backup" truck. So, yes. I did.

I did do it again. I purchased a 2024 xlt December 2023 off a dealer lot. I loved this truck, but missed several options like adaptive cruise, push button start, leather like interior, moon roof, 18" Michellin tires, black appearance package and etc, etc. In July this year, I ordered exactly the options I wanted on a 2024 Lariat. It came in October 3rd and I paid about the window sticker difference on trade after putting on 11,000 miles on my XLT. I love the new one even more than the the first one.

I don't have an XLT, but I was going to order a '25 XL to replace my current XL, until I heard about the fugly re-do of the headlights, and the removal of the physical HVAC controls.
I can't speak to the HVAC thing, but the headlights don't seem like that big of a thing to me.
