I'm going to call my local tag agency and see if I can do anything about the electronic filing and registration fees. Thank you.
I may be misunderstanding this, but the internet shows new registration in FL is $225. Definitely call the tag agency. This may be if you pay cash only and have a title in hand. Not sure how the dealer is charging $500.

I went to the tag agency and they said dealer has to do the registration and the electronic filing.. but I don't know if she is right. I agree, it says on the DMV site that it's $225. I even asked them at the dealer and they said no, it's $500...

You only waited 10 months?
Yeah and I just got an email that my truck is still delayed, I never got the confirmation that my truck was being built. But this one is a custom order and it's the same exact thing I ordered at the same dealership, and they told me it's my truck... not sure.

You are in FL. Dealer fees used to be $699 and then increased to $1000. Most of the dealers also charge electronic filling fees around $200. I think the fees are about right for Florida. Some dealers will add cheap floor mats for $250 even on a car with all weather floor mats.
In Florida there are no caps on dealer fees. Brandon Ford charges about $1,299.00 dealer fee. We need to write our state representatives about this. It’s too much in this day and age.

I just checked mine as in in Central Florida and picked mine up a couple months ago. ZERO Dealer fees, $24 for electronic registration, and $90 for title, registration and lemon law fee so I'm pretty sure most of those fees are upcharged.

yes, my fl dealer had about $950 as a dealer fee. I knew about it upfront when I ordered. Negotiate on financing if you can, but overall it’s the truck you want without any bs add-ons.

I'd stop screwing around and go get the truck in my hands. If they are open today be there when they open. If not, do that tomorrow. Otherwise when you finally decide to pull the trigger you may find its gone. It's not the best deal ever, but for Florida and this market it isn't bad by a long stretch.

My order came in after 10 months, should I accept it even with $995 dealer fee? They wont budge on it. They tried to pressure me into financing but I can buy it outright, added both contracts if you'd like to see.

Thanks!

I'd proceed and buy it - yeah it's terrible but it's not overly outrageous, the probably do this to everyone but it would have been good to get the 'retail buyer agreement' as you ordered it, not when it's about to show up. I wouldn't, however, have any service done at that place, and you should tell them that after you complete the transaction and have the key in hand, maybe (likely not) that'll make them think again about this practice.

I will try negotiating taking the financing if they reduce the dealer fee. They do have a small fee for paying it off before 6 months. What's the difference between paying it off immediately and just buying it outright with cash? See attached fee for early payment.

Paid mine in full, if you can afford not to finance and fo you are voluntarily paying more

Stop worrying about anything but the OTD price.....Finance it at Any rate if it brings the OTD down....then Pay It Off....I have done this several times. Buy the truck...it was just awarded the highest marks of All mid size and small trucks by Motor Trend...I would not take $5,000 more than I paid for mine a year ago for it today.

The dealer from which my Mav was purchased only had extra fees of $350.00.
My original title got lost in the mail and they sent a dup.
Wisc. title changeover was only $160.00.

As been said here before.
Grab the Truck!
Take a loan and pay it off next month.
And Start Enjoying YOUR RIDE...

One of the first things I did when I visited my dealer to order....was to go look at window stickers on the new vehicles they had on the lot. To see what they do with their "add-on" sticker. Mine showed a $599 DOC fee and a $1000 Custom Order Fee. No other stupidity, like green nitrogen valve caps or the like. So I knew their practice going in, and when they agreed to X-plan, that took the $599 down to $100 and there was no attempt to put a Custom order fee on the DORA.

Absolutely, you should learn what you are going to find UP FRONT, but you are past that.

For heavens sake, if you've already been "discussing" your unhappiness with their $998 gouge, my advice is to get down there ASAP and hope and pray they did not turn your "hesitation" into what they term as you DECLINING the order. $998 is a damned small ding compared to what they can get from someone else.

If you have an original purchase agreement that doesn't show a $995 dealer fee (or the $199 Electronic Filing Fee, or the $500 Registration Fee), then they can't charge you that fee now. Of course, you'll have to take them to court. However, if you have nothing in writing, there's not much you can do but walk away. I live in Florida and went to New York to buy my Maverick: $150 dealer fee, $12.50 temporary tag no markup, no other fees (I register the truck and pay sales tax myself here, at Pinellas County Tax Assessor office).
