Check out the Rove R2-4k PRO. I purchased one along with its hardware kit and have been very happy with it. It's forward looking only, though.
Which brings another consideration, are dual systems worth the money and installation hassles?

Yes. Accident can happen from any angle. If you don't like the idea of a long wire from the front, just install a second dashcam in the back and plug into a rear 12v port, USB port, or tap an accessory in the back.

I really like my Cobra SC 250 R front & rear cams. Video quality is great day or night.

They also sell a hardwire kit that plugs into the OBD2 port and is passthrough as well. So the OBD port is still usable. There is also a usable in cab camera aswell sold separately if so desired, for a 3-channel setup.

I have a no-name mirror type I bought on Amazon several years ago, I bought it because it was one of the only ones at the time that used the entire mirror area as the screen. This is the third vehicle it's been in. Just today I bought one on Ebay that has front, rear, and two side cameras, and gps, which my current one lacks. I'm interested in the side cameras, mostly to augment the mirrors. I also like the mirror kind because they are usually larger than stock mirrors.
When I have to drive a fleet vehicle at work I have a small one that suction-cups to the glass, and has a rear-facing camera on the bottom.
I carry an sd card reader in the glovebox that works with my android phone with a small card in it, so I can copy a video and give it to someone if needed.
it's quite easy to route the wires down in the Mav, no need for dangling.

I have the Viofo 119 about 100 bucks front only basic unit took 15 min to wire, plugged into dash not fuse box, powers off when you turn off truck, wire is completely hidden stuffed in headliner and down right A pillar simple install covers front of vehicle with very clear images, I figure if your hit in the rear their at fault 95% of the time unless your backing up no need for coverage. Check that guy on UTUBE that reviews any and everything he reviewed a lot of units and does a great job he buys they all no handouts from company's he thought the Viofo was the best. Its small, has a screen and can see images on phone can't go wrong for 100 bucks.

I have been using a Viofo A119 for years and it blows everything else out of the water. I have the hardwire kit installed so that it turns off the camera when the battery voltage drops, and it enables parking mode to just capture moving objects.

Great camera with a really good picture.
