I got a Motorola MA1 for wireless Android Auto connectivity and it connects and it does what it's supposed to.

My problem starts when I park it and go inside my home. Even with the truck shut off, my phone and the MA1 constantly reconnect and disconnect as I move around my home. The only way I can prevent it is to turn off my phone's Bluetooth (which I use for other things) or unplug the MA1 (this defeats the purpose of having a wireless adapter if I have to plug/unplug it every time I get in and out of the truck).

Apparently, the data USB port remains on when the truck is off, but that's the only port available for the MA1, so I'm not sure what the solution is.

I haven't been able to find anyone mentioning this issue. The truck is a 2024.

Update:
It's now working fine, but I haven't changed anything. My best guess is that something caused the USB port to remain powered for longer than normal when this was happening.

That is weird, I have an AAwireless and as soon as the stereo turns off when opening the dirver's door with the engine on, the device goes dormant as well. Does your Motorola dongle come with some sort of app for changing the dongle's settings?

It doesn't.

I haven't been using it very long and I didn't notice the issue the last time I came home. I need to test it more.

I have the exact same dongle. I personally haven't noticed that. I am plugged into the USB A port vice the C. It seems to disconnect as soon as I turn the truck off. I'll have to pay more attention, but my phone seems to switch from the M1a to my house wireless as soon as I turn off the truck.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you using the USB A port directly or using the USB C port with an adapter?

switch from the M1a to my house wireless
Do you mean your home WiFi? The MA1 is a Bluetooth dongle. My phone can be connected to the MA1 and my home WiFi at the some time.

A lot of folks here are having a sync issue that an update takes care of. Among those issues, for me, my CarPlay dongle did the same as your AA. I did a master reset and update. For the moment, It seems to have fixed the issues that have been noted.

I have my adapter plugged into the USB A port not the USB C port.

I believe the M1a uses both Wifi and Bluetooth. I copied this from a Google search.

"Yes, the Motorola MA1 wireless car adapter uses 5 GHz WiFi for Android Auto. It also has Bluetooth connectivity. The MA1 connects to your car's existing Android Auto, allowing you to use your phone to transmit car GPS."

I believe when I open the door, it powers up the ports and my phone drops the house WiFi and connects to M1a WiFi. Then just the opposite when I get home and turn off the truck.

I haven't really paid attention to the exact timings.

But, my wife just drove off with the truck and my phone dropped the house WiFi and went to the truck then when she was out of range it connected to house again. Also from previous experience, I was following her in another car and as I got close enough my phone would connect to the M1a in the truck.

My phone uses the houses 5Ghz channel to connect. So possibly that's why my experience is different? Possibly if it used the 2.4 Ghz it would connect to both at the same time?

I really haven't paid much attention to it as it just seems to work.

Only real issue I've had is if I was using Sirius XM when I turned the truck off. The audio system is VERY determined to reconnect to that audio source again and will sometimes not respond to dash controls trying to get the FM radio to work.

My Motorola MA1 works with no problems. It doesn't turn on until I turn on the truck. It turns off and disconnects with the truck when the key is removed. I used the Motorola MA1 on my former car for 3 years with no problems and now I am using it the same way in the Maverick.

This is interesting. The MA1 sure does have WiFi connectivity, but I honestly don't know why it would have that when all it needs is Bluetooth...

Regardless, the way I understand it - bone-stock and operating correctly, none of the USB ports should have power once the Maverick radio is powered down. If the vehicle is off, there shouldn't be any MA1 available to connect to on any frequency at all.

The only other thing I can think of (and this is a complete guess) is that something else (maybe trying to update over my home wifi?) kept my infotainment and USB ports powered for a while after I shut the truck off.

Also, it did eventually stop trying to reconnect, but it was doing it at least 5 minutes after I left the truck.

Huh. I guess I need to check for an update.

Is 'master reset' an option in the settings or is it one of those 'hold three buttons while standing on your head' kind of resets?

I'd have to search, but it's one of those hold 2 or 3 buttons on radio things. Resets radio, I've had to do this a few times when it was locked up. Not recently so sorry I don't remember buttons to push. I'm sure it's in the forum or Google knows.

Maybe?, just a shotgun guess without researching. If your home WiFi is 2.4Ghz and truck is 5Ghz your phone is trying to do both at same time?

Is odd your ports stayed powered up. Maybe there's a setting for that in dash? Possibly why people see different results? Some people may want their USB ports to stay powered up longer.

The reset is done through settings. May not be necessary if you just do the update.

It has wifi because both Android Auto and Carplay require wifi to work, as most of the data is sent through that. Bluetooth is used for the setup process mostly, and it doesn't hace enough bandwidth for transmitting the video feed on the infotainment screen.
