You don't need to do a TPMS relearn. Just drive it for a day and it relearns all by itself, the same as when you rotate the tires every year and it figures out which is which all by itself.
I will give it a test after, I switch over in spring.
Thanks

That is mostly incorrect. The newest cars can figure out if you have rotated tires but they can not/will not put new sensor ID's into the car's computer by magic.

If your snow tires/rims have cloned sensors that have the same four ID's as your other set, the suggestion would work. If the two sets of sensors have differerent ID's then you have to put, or program, them into the car's computer so it can be looking for the four ID's that you have on the car. Most newer cars can be placed in a sensor relearn mode where it will listen for a triggered sensor and over-write that ID into it's memory for that location.

Older cars can only be done with a TPMS tool through the OBD port. A good rule of thumb is if a car only has a tire pressure warning light you have to use the OBD port and TPMS tool. If the car displays all tire pressures then it should have a relearn mode which can be used to write new ID's. New ones can also be done by using the OBD port.

With modern Fords you usually...
1. With car off push brake pedal for about a 1 sec.
2. cycle key on/off 3 times ending with key on.
3. push brake pedal once more for ~1 sec.
4. cycle key on/off 3 times, a single horn blow will happen and a display will pop up. Follow prompts by triggering sensor LF, then RF, then RR, then LR.

The maverick sensors can be trigged by a ford TPMS19 tool which is about $10-$30. With my super duty you can let air pressure out to trigger the sensor. These methods work if eveything is perfect, but offer zero troubleshooting. I use a MaxiTPMS TS508WF which you can get for $125 and new sensors for ~$18 if you look hard enough.

I have use extra rims for winter tires for the last 35 years. It allows me to switch tires in my driveway. I have a portable air compressor & small floor jack.

My '25 Maverick is the first with TPMS. I need to purchase a TPMS Relearn Tool to reset the tire pressure monitor.

I purchased tires six weeks before the 1st snow. I installed them after the 1st snow in my driveway with my Son doing most of the work. I drove to the tire shop to have the TPMS reset for free. Studded snow are only legal between Sept 16 & April 30. Tire shops are busy after 1st snow.
I bought my Blizzaks snow tires on spare (takeoffs from Craigslist) wheels from Discount Tire. They swap the wheels for free twice a year.

When installing new 315mhz TPMs you have to wake them up with a tool it’s not as simple as rotating tires, your sensors are already awake and adjust. Whatever shop installed your tires can and will do that. Mine was discount tire they do it for free regardless if you purchase any tire just drop by.

I have Blizzacks mounted on the Steel rims that came with the truck. So far, they have been a fantastic snow tire. (I'm in Maine) The stock tires will go back on in spring on some seriously nice black spoked rims I bought last fall. Once the Continentals wear down, I'll look to upgrade those with something else.

I put mine on last summer because I was excited and they’re not winter tires specifically. They handle the snow really well. I’ll throw my factory wheels back on for next summer.

Michelin X-Ice on a set of almost new XL steelies (previous owner said that they had 38 miles on the wheels when he "upgraded" to some ugly alloys).

My spring/summer/autumn tires are Michelin CrossClimate 3s on the OE alloys.

Haven’t had a chance to post much so finally getting around to sharing the winter setup I’ve been running since November.

Picked up a set of 17x7.5 RTX Ranch wheels on eBay for winter use. I liked that they looked somewhat ford OEM. And I wanted OEM center bore which had 63.4, didn’t wanna mess an around with hub rings ect. Wrapped them in Toyo Observe G3 Ice OEM sizing. Also the stock black ford center caps fit perfectly. Used ford open end lug nuts and installed some Amazon black lug nut covered to match it all up nicely.

Mini review on winter tires. Are they good for the money yes. I’d probably give them a 3.5 out of 5 stars but being I’ve had much better winter tires these are just ok. Positives are good traction out of the hole and decent braking and they’re actually pretty quiet for a snow tire. The negatives are they’re ultra mushy so at higher highway speed and winds you’re going to feel it. I don’t care for the turn in with the sipes are good in a straight line but when you turn there’s a feeling of unsettledness. Will they break loose, no…but it’s just that like I said I’ve had better winter tires like blizzaks and good years and many more to list, these don’t feel as confident. But in the end they’re great for what they are and you can stud them if you need to.

anyways what’s everyone else running for their winter setup? And how do you like the tires you’re running?

They did well for me also but at 45k on them I questioned the capability in deeper snow and slush. I’ll definitely replace them with another set this summer for tue 3 seasons as a daily. Agreed good tire very capable.
I will have to see if I want to even consider aftermarket alternatives when it comes time to replace my Tremor's tires.

Here in the NW corner of NM winter is highly unpredictable. You might have a winter when you get 3-5 inches from a storm and have one of those storms every week. You might have a winter where you get once decent snowfall per month from December through Feb-early March. You might get snow on Easter weekend. And you might go a whole winter without anything but a sad rain or two. (Then I remember the year we got 14 in out of a single storm the 3 week of December and the kids got an extra week of school off for their Christmas Break.)

I plan on wearing out the Continentals and then buying a 3-peak rated all terrain. Bought my first 3 peak rated tire probably in 2016, a Hercules Terra Trac ATII for an AWD Highlander I owned. That tire was nothing short awesome in the snow and ice. Last set of tires I bought for the 2018 Buick Regal TourX I replaced with the Maverick was a General Altimax 365 AW which was really good at everything from lateral grip and snow use.

Price will be a consideration but I always try to get a "good value" everything I need in the tire without spending a penny more than I need to. I'm leaning toward a BF Goodrich Trail Terrain with the white letters on the outside.

Though it might end up looking like a Tonka Truck...
You must live close to Farmington. Used to go out there about every other summer to see my uncle Lewis and aunt Vi.

Milwaukee here. Stock wheels and stock tires. Never understand people that buy winter tires. I think the stock tires are Pirelli's and they work just fine. When the time comes I will most likely get Michelin's. They last forever. This will be my 3rd winter with a Maverick.
