Disagree, weight over the 2 rear wheels in fwd, awd, and rwd will help in cornering in snowy conditions. Wife’s Honda is fwd and she insists on some weight in back cause it does help.
YUP. That's why arrows have weights back by the feathers.

FWIW, the HV battery in the Maverick Hybrid is a fraction of the size & weight of a full electric vehicle battery, probably something like 60 or 70 times smaller.

Your FWD truck should do fine in snow, assuming you have purchased tires suitable for the task. The stock Continentals basically suck.
How about putting them just on the front of my hybrid?

I doubt that anybody would actually recommend that setup, since the back wheels would not brake or corner as well as the fronts. Its better than nothing, but it has big issues.

IDK. You should probably replace all 4 tires with the same kind. I replaced the OEM Continentals with 4 new Wildpeak A/T Trails (3 1 Peak snow rated) shortly after I bought my FWD Hybrid. I've had no problems driving in snow.

[Edit: changed from 3 Peak to 1 Peak snow rated.]

Perfect for when the front end of your truck is experiencing different weather conditions from the back end of your truck... Or when you only want to use half of your brakes. ;)

Okay, okay. I should spring for all four. Now, do I get the Michelins or the Blizzaks?

Don't add weight!! Invest in a second set of rims & good winters (if you have room) before coming back to AB. The Continentals aren't good, worst case swap out the rubber. We got a big dump this past week. Try using slippery mode as well.
I got a nice set of steelies and almost new tires for $200. Snows are going to be maybe $900.

80# over the rear axle helps in my Grand Caravan believe it or not.
So instead of Cosa Nostra, go to the Mary Kay Mob for a dead body?
🤔

I don't have mine yet so don't yet know what the original tire look like tread wise. One thing I am going to do as soon as or maybe even before they wear out is replace them with LT type tires instead of P type tires. LT has more tread depth for one thing.

Now there is some snow on the ground I am wondering how the Mav Hybrid is handling the snowy conditions ? I am in AZ until mid December, will pick up my truck in Montana and drive back home to Alberta , do I need to put weights in the box for better traction all around or does the Mav have enough weight with the batteries ?
[/QUOTEoneof the transmission modes is for slippery conditions. I use it it it’s icy. It drives differently but in all honesty can’t say if I am getting any benefit. If it is deep snow I use my Cherokee trailhawk. One thing to pay attention to is you don’t want to try blasting through a snow pile. If the snow is too deep and you get the front wheels in the air you are not going anywhere until you either get a tow or dig out the snow until the wheels are touching pavement again. I have had the front wheels get raised from the road a couple times in front wheel drive cars and it’s a major pain ]

My 2023 Lariat hybrid came with Michelins. Got through last winter in NE Iowa just fine. But then, I'm old enough that I don't drive like it's the last lap of the Daytona 500.
