I noticed my Maverick’s got some serious wind buffeting (helicopter, eardrum sucking sound) going on with all four windows down. On most vehicles I’ve owned that only happens when just the rears are down but on this rig it happens when any windows are down. Does anyone know if window deflectors solve this issue for Mavericks? I don’t have the sliding rear window but I also wonder if those that do don’t have this issue?

Nope, rear slider eliminates buffeting. You could add a rear slider, or experiment with different windows at different heights, sometimes that helps.

Never had deflectors, so can't answer that one.

I have the rear window and when opened buffeting stops. Middle rear seatbelt flaps and creates a lot of noise.

this is my experience too, opening the slider seems to quiet the wind buffeting.

Any idea how much it cost to get one of those? Is that an available aftermarket mod?

Can't say for sure on a Mav aftermarket slider, I bet there is. Pretty common for most trucks. A little research should quickly yield results. You could also retrofit an OEM manual slider, but at higher cost.

For the curious, the power sliding window is part number NZ6Z-6042006-G, the manual sliding window is NZ6Z-6042006-F.

From Ford, the power window is going for $1,057.23, the manual window is $1,006.17. Given the similarity in pricing, I'm assuming the power window only includes the window assembly glass and does not include the motor or wiring.

I would say the solution is to get a rear window. It's not cheap, but it will do the trick.
