Wait until the MSRP goes up $5K and the dealer adds ADM to that too. It's a comin'! That'll be a kick in the groin.

I think they'll hold MSRP until 2023 MY. But no guarantees.

I want a Maverick. I've had my eye on one for months now, but we're still a few months out from being able to buy one.

I understand that dealers can add their own markups and all that.

But does anyone know if the MSRP will increase? Do OEMs do that? If I wait to order a 2022 Maverick for a few months, could I end up with a higher MSRP?

Trying to decide if waiting is a bad idea in the long run.
I think many people are under the impression that because they have already ordered a 2022 Maverick (with or without deposit) that their price is locked in. Not so. There is nothing to prevent Ford from changing the MSRP on 2022 Mavericks that have already been ordered.

You tube has several videos reporting auto dealer "market price adjustments"; not only for Mavericks, but for all brands of new vehicles. The highest add on I saw was around $45,000. Some of the reported dealers were doctoring up the MSRP window sticker to make it look like they were only charging MSRP, when in fact they were sticking it to the buyer.
My dealer didn't play that game on the Mavericks but they do the "market adjustment" on the Broncos that are in stock. People pay it! I could wait a long time or drive a long ways for $20,000.

The Monroney sticker is a legal required document. It cannot be modified.

If you ask around there are several ways to acquire an X plan pin. Owning stock is one, if you know a friend of a friend at Ford, X plan is easy. The advantage is pre determined prices, limits on documentation fees. The Ford site actually has a document pre printed for you and a dealer representative to fill out and sign with pricing.

I joined Verans Advantage and now qualify for X plan.

My contract with the dealer (which I think has pretty standard terms) permits the dealer to pass along any price increase to the buyer if Ford ups its price to the dealer. Or either party can cancel.

That said, I think the idea that Ford would increase the price on orders it has already received from the dealer is pretty far-fetched. There are lots of things I worry about, but this isn't one of them.

I just ordered a Velocity Blue base hybrid with drop in bed liner two days ago at MSRP at Larson Ford in Lakewood, NJ.Worst case scenario, I asked them what if I don’t get one until the 2023 models come out. They said they will honor the 2022 price on the truck, but price of options could go up. I actually do not want mine to come in until at least March because I want to save more for the down payment.

I ordered the Turbo on 10/22/21 and was told by the dealer it will be a 4-6 month wait. So if you want a 2022 model order ASAP. I signed up for MSRP which should lock in the price. Good Luck!

Order a hybrid. You won't get it for several months. And hybrid orders are about to close soon for 2022 models.
Hybrid is already a "limited availability" option on the Maverick build site in case anyone missed it.
MRSRP will only go up from here on I suspect (think Mustang "secretary's car"). Have y'all noticed the ramped up truck/car ads nervously running in light of Maverick demand?

MSRP will go up, no question.
The only reason to wait is if you don't really need a car right now and you want to wait for a proper electrified version of the maverick. With a hybrid reservation in July I expect the vehicle in March-June 2022 if I by then a plug-in or fully electric version of compact truck from ford or other OEM is announced it would be tempting to just wait a bit longer...or you just buy it and trade it in.

Its hard to say. Obviously they will have to raise the price eventually, but part of fords marketing is the $19,995 base price tag, which nobody actually gets since they have to pay the $1495 transportation fee. So maybe they will try and keep the base vehicle the same price and increase the cost of packages/addons? who knows.

Thanks for the information/great news. I am a F stockholder, so I am very interested in this x plan. From research on the Ford website, I see that you have to obtain a PIN to use in the order process. However, the website says thst the C-Plan is offered “to the employees, retirees, spouses and other household members”…. It requires you to provide employees name & address and your proof of address. Or if a membership program you have to provide a membership card.

it doesn’t say anything about stock ownership. How do you use stock ownership to qualify?
