Will The MSRP Change?

I want a Maverick. I've had my eye on one for months now, but we're still a few months out from being able to buy one.

I understand that dealers can add their own markups and all that.

But does anyone know if the MSRP will increase? Do OEMs do that? If I wait to order a 2022 Maverick for a few months, could I end up with a higher MSRP?

Trying to decide if waiting is a bad idea in the long run.

I personally anticipated waiting a few years and snagging a used one because I hate buying new....but in this market, I really wouldn't be surprised if Ford increases the MSRP and/or dealers continue to jack the price up. At their price point and the current market, I really don't see room for massive depreciation. I would suggest if you're interested and can find one for MSRP or a little above, pull the trigger. Just my opinion.

Order a hybrid. You won't get it for several months. And hybrid orders are about to close soon for 2022 models.

I'm guessing that it will be M-J-J-A before I see our hybrid. If you don't order now I think you can count on a 23 price increase.

Its hard to say. Obviously they will have to raise the price eventually, but part of fords marketing is the $19,995 base price tag, which nobody actually gets since they have to pay the $1495 transportation fee. So maybe they will try and keep the base vehicle the same price and increase the cost of packages/addons? who knows.

I posted this elsewhere, but I'd bet that a price increase is coming, and/or a more stripped-out base model that'll support the $19,995 price.

If you're happy with the configurations and price now, I'd get one now to lock in the price.

Personally I'm hiding in the bushes for at least two years, probably until the midcycle refresh. I don't mind an increase in price since I think the Maverick is value-priced as it is. I'm hoping that with an increase in price also comes more features or refinements.

For example, I don't mind the 100/0 back seat, but I'm hoping a 60/40 seat is coming with the midcycle refresh. It's not a deal breaker per se, but more like a thing that might make you say, darn, wish I waited.

No split in the fold down/up, aka the whole seat and back folds up/down instead of 60/40% of it. 60/40 is nice because you can have a car seat on one side and still access the storage behind or under the seat without removing the car seat.

Its probably a cost saving measure, which I don't blame them for in a $20k truck, since its more of a nice to have than a necessity.

If you wait too much longer it'll be a 2023 you're ordering. FEs are already closed out for 2022. Hybrids will be closed out soon. Haven't heard about ECOs.

Ford is already raising prices on some models, and EVERYTHING is getting harder to get. Mav hybrids are almost sold out for the next year. This isn't going to get any better until 2023, maybe. The lack of magnesium may shut down whole plants. In the meanwhile, inflation is rampant, so count on a higher price.
Order a hybrid NOW; you're never going to get a better deal, and you won't have to pay for it for 6 months or however long it takes to get to you. And then Ford may be offering killer financing terms if you need them. IMO they will go UP in value. Waiting IS a bad idea on this one.
Don't pay over MSRP - plenty of sources on the forum to find the right dealer for you. If you're tight on $, just get an XL (with the receiver hitch because it's a bargain and you or the next owner will want it someday) and do everything else after-market as you can afford. That's what I did - it's built, just waiting for the OKTB and arrival.

Lock in the price with no more than you will walk away from ($100-$200-?). Due to costs of everything going up. (I did see where the highest gas price in California (Gorda) was $8.59/ gal a couple weeks ago). I will be happy if increase is not more than 5% on maverick. I also expect to see 2022's finished before end of September or will see them being made mixed in with 2023's depending on constrained. I think there is a possibility standing 2022 orders will be offered a deal if they want to switch to 2023's. Etc,etc....

I’m old enough to remember when M-Benz advertised the new CLA heavily, being under $29,900.
That didn’t last long.
So you can imagine in the hyper-inflation times we live in that manufacturers will have to raise MSRPs.
Heck, Tesla recently raised all prices across the board due to price of getting parts and supplies.

I agree. I don't know what options/model you want but, I don't see the base hybrid getting cheaper. Like many have said, I don't think you'll have any problems if you decide to let the dealer keep it. I ordered two hybrids sight unseen and both my dealers said they would sell if decided I didn't want them.
