Will the insurance company declare this a total loss?

Yes, the footage shows that the truck moved first, and then I moved forward to turn left. The damage did not occur on the front right side of my truck; instead, it occurred in the middle and afterward as the truck started turning. This indicates that I remained in my lane. I believe this clearly supports that the truck was at fault and is consistent with the police officer’s judgment based on my footage. I am very fortunate to have a good and reliable dashcam installed, and I will install one in all my future vehicles.
Just curious if your dashcam recorded both front & rear activity? With the affordability of modern dashcams nowadays, it's foolish NOT to have one in your vehicle. Too many idiots on the road or "legitimate" accidents to where the burden of proof is priceless!

OP,
This obviously was Not your fault.
But you should have seen the situation developing and moved left.
Head on a swivel, situational awareness,
Takes practice and forethought.
Learn this, Earn it, the less crashes there are the slower ALL our insurance rate will climb.
A vehicle that size could have tossed you into oncoming traffic traffic and killed you.

I figured they would. Post #12
It looked pretty severe. For those that thought that it would be under $20,000🤣🤣🤣🤣
What do you plan on replacing it with?

A hybrid 2025 Maverick XL that is on sale ($5000 off MSRP).
Going from a Lariat to an XL? I'm not sure I could do that. Just losing the dual zone climate would be a clincher to us.

I understand. But if the difference is $15,000, then it is an easy choice for me.

That's very unlikely to be written off. It doesn't even look like the BLIS sensor assembly was hit. 2 used doors and a rear outer panel, a used taillight and maybe minor B and C pillar straightening. All of the panels are just bolt-on and the junkyard paint match is probably pretty near perfect. So probably under $3k to fix.
I had the drivers side rear fender bent in crushing the supports between the fender and the inside bed panel. Inside of bed had no damage. Small paint chip on rear door edge no bending of metal. Taillight lens popped off. Due to welding the bedliner had to be resprayed (towing to/from linex and respray was $1460). Tire was bruised and replaced. Rim was still in specs but cost $125 to have checked. Total was $12,722.00. plus I got additional $2,140.00 diminished value check.

I've got the '25 XL Hybrid AWD w 4K.
That gives you a lot of the features of the XLT without the XLT price.
In any case, better luck with your new vehicle.

Drove back my 25 Maverick XLT AWD hybrid with copilot 360 1.0 in velocity blue. $35000 OTD. Love it!
As someone who also got a Maverick after their previous vehicle was totaled, congrats. :)
