Will the insurance company declare this a total loss?

Oh yeah, that’s a total two unibody panels bent usually does it. That’s easily 25k maybe 15 K just in parts

Let us know what happens. It depends on the model too. 15k of repairs on a 40k Lariat isn’t “totaled” typically.

My Maverick is a 2023 model year vehicle. Its current market value is below $30,000. If the repair cost is $20,000, that represents more than 67% of the vehicle’s current value.

With that sort of damage, hope so...likely will not ever be the same. I had a rattle in my Focus ST for the longest time after the rear passenger door was replaced. I thought maybe a tech left a screw driver in there or some a bolt. Oddly I think it eventually went away or I learned to ignore it. Good luck.

Totaled threshold can be as high as 75%

We’ve seen a few here with bent “frames” or rather the unibody being deformed and those don’t always look bad on the outside, but enough kinetic force hit those vehicles to collapse structural parts of the unibody so they got totaled and then people complain that they “total easily” when really they were just hit a lot harder than is obvious from the exterior damage.

The collapsing unibody is what saves lives in major accidents and lets people walk away without even a sore neck from minor accidents, so I have no complaints.

You were stopped & waiting to turn left and a heavy truck's rear bumper hooked into your bodywork as it turned right?

Might not be totaled, depends if the door posts were distorted or not. The doors & rear fender simply bolt on, they're very easy to replace if the underlying frame isn't bent ... and if you got hooked at walking speeds as I suspect, there might be little to no structural damage beneath the visible bodywork

This was how it happened.

Typical total tipping point is anywhere between 50 to 80 percent.
There area lot of replacement parts needed, and if any unibody damage it's highly likely to be totaled. If it were mine, I'd want it totaled.

From your pic it isn't clear who hit who, but it looks more like you hit the other truck.
I don't see how the other vehicle could have taken the corner any sharper.
Was liability determined?

The other party was a large truck. It was hard for the truck to make a sharp right turn due to the narrow bridge and snow accumulation. Based on my dashcam footage, the police officer told me that the truck’s trailer entered my lane, and I believe the police report will reflect this. From the photos, you can see that the damage started at the side mirror, then hit the front door, the B-pillar, and the rear panel, continuing all the way to the tail light.

Good thing you had a dash cam.
Good luck with your settlement.
Yes, the footage shows that the truck moved first, and then I moved forward to turn left. The damage did not occur on the front right side of my truck; instead, it occurred in the middle and afterward as the truck started turning. This indicates that I remained in my lane. I believe this clearly supports that the truck was at fault and is consistent with the police officer’s judgment based on my footage. I am very fortunate to have a good and reliable dashcam installed, and I will install one in all my future vehicles.

That's very unlikely to be written off. It doesn't even look like the BLIS sensor assembly was hit. 2 used doors and a rear outer panel, a used taillight and maybe minor B and C pillar straightening. All of the panels are just bolt-on and the junkyard paint match is probably pretty near perfect. So probably under $3k to fix.
