This was on I35 between Waco and Temple, TX bucking a 20mph head wind. I had just pulled into town where the limit is 40 but I was driving 60 just before that. AWD with 4 k tow.
Typical highway mileage with my 23 Lariat, AWD, 4k tow. ecoboost at 70mph on I 35.I wonder what the fuel efficiency impact will be if I added the 4K tow package to the AWD system. I assume the increased towing capacity of the 4K tow package is being achieved by using a shorter final drive ratio. If that's the case, there will be an efficiency hit at higher speeds, won't there? Although at fist glance it sounds appealing to double the towing capacity for under $800, but the appeal of the Maverick to me is partly its fuel efficiency. If the AWD's fuel efficiency is affected by the 4K tow package, then I might as well stick with a 4WD Ranger if I really want the larger towing capacity.
You cannot depend on that mileage reading, you must use trip 1 pr trip 2 and have a longer than 25 mile trip without reset.Yeah I can show high numbers with my AWD Ecoboost. Check it out :

Notice the RPM at that speed.
The Ecoboost Rawks !
My five tank mpg Average is 28 mpg
My best flat land interstate run was 31 and I had to stay under 80 mph to get that.
wb5oxq, your tank range remaining and miles driven gave me this info:
414 + 39 =453 miles divided by 16.5 gallons is 27.45 mpg.
Not 37.9 mpg
But you should double check my math.
I’ve been wrong before.
37.9 mpg times 16.5 gallons would give a tank range of 625 miles.
Not gonna happen in the Ecoboost.
That 85 mpg I’m showing was a joke. You know, like getting 99 mpg right after you reset the thing. You cannot depend on that mileage reading, you must use trip 1 pr trip 2 and have a longer than 25 mile trip without reset.
