What immediately caught my attention was when i serviced the rear differential. Your Ranger and Nissan had regular truck axles and suspension. Iv never seen a suspension like the Maverick. Thickest steel used might be 1/8" like I said, minimal.
Do those trucks have independent rear suspension? I assume they're body on frame design and the Maverick is a unibody. So the frame won't be as thick but does that mean it isn't a "truck"

I have asked mine personally what it's pronouns are and it gave a me a look that made me uncomfortable. I know it identifies as a truck and I'm okay with that. I love my Maverick. It can be whatever it wants to be as long as it doesn't seek a career in politics.

Also, this thread is proof that sarcasm > negativity

A light duty caruck.
See, I don't get this.

There are trucks from the 1980s and 1990s that are less capable than the Maverick, but no one hesitates calling them trucks. This really feels like some deep rooted insecurity rearing up moreso than any true objective observation. 😆

Hell, this can't do most of what a Maverick can, and it's a truck:

Not in my opinion. But that is all it is.

So do you consider the Maverick a truck or not? I mean by the technical definition I would say yes. For what some hardcore truck guys consider a truck I guess not. But I don't know to each the it own. The thing is since they have raised a price the Ford really isn't much cheaper than this Santa Cruz or the Ridgeline as far as I can see. I'm willing to bet the Honda would be more dependable by a long shot over time, but to me the Maverick just looks better Even at the other two seem to be more styled if that makes sense.
I agree with you. I'm of all the 1/2 tons from the 70s and 80s.

My Maverick’s pronouns are FX-4and AWD. Her name is Skye. 😎. If anyone needs proof it is capable watch some YouTube videos of it off-road and in the snow. Trucks exist in many forms…

In today's society I have to be careful about how I perceive my Maverick as to whether it is a truck or a car. Or something in-between.

Same, I can't tell if they're rolling coal in front of me to make a statement, or it's because those truck owners are just the most absent minded and inconsiderate drivers in the road. It's funny how our trucks trigger those guys, I know their egos are as fragile, as their emissions systems, but damn.
Not a fan of the diesel boys when they roll coal on me whether in the Maverick or on the bike. But I do chuckle as the excess fuel washes the oil film off the cylinder walls thus ensuring rapid ring wear and piston scuff.

And that would be expected with the EB. The hybrid is not designed for high speeds.
A while back went on a road trip with a buddy who has a Prius. He set the cruise at 105 and the car held the speed for about 20 minutes while the mileage dropped to 30.1 mpg.
