Hybrid, truck, and low price.

However, the hybrid powertrain doesn’t suit how harsh the ride is.
The serenity of a hybrid is better suited to the softer suspension and ride of the prius.
So it is odd having the smooth, quiet powertrain mixed with harsh impact suspension, but guess that comes with the Corolla price.

Who's waiting. Me I just ordered and while I have money for a down payment i do not have the money to ship it to hawaii. I cant afford what they cost here, so i bought from granger and gonna finance 25,000 for 5 years. I ordered a 31,000 truck. Its gonna take me 6 month to save the shipping money and the potential roadtrip money to fly to the mainland and drive it to the west coast. Im not waiting, im biding my time.

All the people on here who are complaining about the wait are either A buying above what they should and are of a gimme now type personality, or B can afford something more expensive and available but have a specific love of the mav or just like to be another nag in the crowd.

For us its the be best new car we can afford right now and it meets nearly all of our needs. 4x4, room for a medley of 2 to 5 humans, 2 dogs, a weeks worth of laundry, 5 jugs of fresh water, multiple propane tanks, beach gear, and construction materials. We will also be buying a cap with a rack when its available.

We were going to get a bronco but cant afford one with lockers(i wont pay new car money without getting the most heavy duty version of the vehicle) and 4 doors.

I have never bought a new car and unless it has a stick may never again. Over half of the cars ive owned were carbureted. Also im not old im 37. Born the year before the death of most carbs.

I ordered my Maverick in Aug, I think the 4th...but I received my Maverick on Jan. 20th. It was at the dealership on the 14th. I couldn't get time off to go buy it. The dealership was great. Gave me a fair price on my 2018 Challenger. It took 60 to 65 minutes for me to drive off the lot. They financed the reminder, too!!! This is my first new Ford ever. X Chevy guy. Gm is truly crappy. I bought three new Mopars. They were good to me. I few minor problems, nothing like Chevy's. My new better half bought new 2017 Coyote 5.0 F-150. Loves it. It's a great truck, but it is a short bed reg cab. So when this Maverick popped up, I decided to just go for it. I don't miss my Challenger at all. This Maverick is quieter than my 2018 Challenger. I have hauled 400 pounds of dirt and yard supplies in the back, not a problem!!! This is a new life style vehicle!
we have a 2018 F-150 with Coyote 5.0. Sport model with Super cab & 6.5 foot bed. Used it today in fact to go motorcycle riding. Have pulled my toybox with it. Wife uses it couple times a week to tow horse trailer. Gets great mileage for a V-8, and right combination of utility & comfort. We love it! It is however too high sitting for most of my daily needs, so adding a Maverick makes perfect sense. (y)

I put in my order in last August 8/26 I believe. My car was on its way to a junk yard and I hoped to eek it out until the maverick got here. It didn't. But I didn't want anything else. So I bought a used beater for a few bills and made it through to January when my maverick was delivered.

It has already exceeded my expectations.

I bought a trailer for it since I got the tow hitch added. Mpg has been 32mpg since day 1 including the two times I've used the trailer AND having to heat up the car in the northern cold mornings. It's very roomy for a big guy. It's my first brand new car that was exactly what I wanted. Every other car has been used or off the lot new.

Perfect mix between replacing my old car and giving me a truck for those few times I need a truck without the mileage or cost of a truck.

The hybrid Maverick is the only vehicle on the road right now that meets my particular needs:
  • good commuter mileage (equivalent to my gas Civic hatchback)
  • cargo bed (so tired of hauling smelly gas cans, feed, etc. in the hatchback)
  • right-sized (I'm short!)
This is my first special order--I've always bought off the lot before. The wait is annoying, but until another manufacturer can provide those three needs, I'm sticking with the Maverick. I ordered in September, and I hope to see a MY22, but if it pushes to MY23, c'est la vie.

I wasn't even planning to replace my current vehicle until I discovered the Maverick, so unlike a lot of folks on this forum, I can afford to wait a bit. I sure hope those of you who need a truck now, can get built soon.

Those are my reasons for waiting it out. What are yours?

You answered your own question. What else would you wait for? There is nothing like it (new) available. It’s a perfect vehicle for so many people for so many reasons, that’s why it’s special.

What makes you think ppl on here can't wait a bit? Many just excited as are you to get there hands on this cool truck. That's why we bought one! Maverick Lariat FX4 in driveway next to our '20 Ranger XLT FX4.. a much more serious truck. Both great in there own ways tho. Maverick is worth the wait. If you walk away someone else will gladly grab your order from dealer. These have quickest turn around on lots of any vehicle at moment.. i believe I read. Check out any recent review to reinforce reasoning for ordering this top notch small truck.

Agree with you 100%. However, I am also seeing posts from people unwilling to wait. I’m in it for the long haul—I’ll wait as long as I have to. My question is what are some of the awesome features that make other people willing to wait like me?

What other non-rear wheel drive pickup comes in at or under 25K which isn't over 10 years , 200 K miles or both? Bonus for being New or Certified used.

Cheap (price and gas), real seating for 5, and some truck function.

I've loved my ford fusion hybrid and don't want to have to get in and out so close to the ground.

I only had to wait 3-4 weeks to get mine. Dealer called and I snapped up a customer refusal. Boy did he make a mistake. I am loving this little truck. I have about 600 miles since I picked it up. The wife put 400 miles on it driving it home from the dealer. It’s comfortable, quiet, easy to drive and has anyone mentioned great gas mileage?

That's what I tell people thinking about walking away. I tell them just go ahead and do so, but they are really only hurting themselves. I say that Ford won't notice, the dealer will kiss you because they will likely make more, and the person that ends up with the Maverick will be ecstatic! The only person who loses in the whole process is the one who walks away.

Congrats!
