Why do we think Ford did away with Eruption Green?

Like the story of how Petty blue came into existence. Richard had built his first race car and needed to paint it. They had part of a can of white, and part of a can of blue so he mixed them together.
There was an episode of Dirty Jobs where a guy was mixing leftover paint and then selling it. The resulting color was close to what manufacturers use as a shade of grey. Hence my "leftover paint" moniker for them.

Because the management finally got rid of all the green in their kidneys from drinking too much green beer on St Patricks day ?? Maybe ?? 🍺

I'm sure some of you may have heard about the NASCAR story and green cars??? Some drivers won't drive a green painted/wrapped car because of this legend: In 1910, Lee Oldfield was driving a green car in a race at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. His car went off the track and killed several bystanders. Ten years later, in 1920, Gaston Chevrolet (brother of Louis Chevrolet, the car company founder) was killed in a crash during an automobile race in Beverly Hills, California. As the story goes, the car he was driving happened to be green. Thus, according to legend and superstition, this pair of events means that green race cars are indeed unlucky. However, some racers and racing fans believe the superstition goes back even before the 1910 and 1920 incidents (even though no one seems willing to offer up a plausible alternative theory).
Barney Oldfield was that driver, and walls or fences in those days were basically snow fences to hold people from moving farther onto the track. It was amazing how people would stand so close with little or no protection. It's no wonder fans were seriously injured or suffered fatal injuries. Harry Can't did OK in his green cars.

Most manufacturers offer the "boring" colors for years on end, if not permanently, but nearly all of them offer the "fun" colors-- if they offer them at all-- for only a single year for the express purpose of driving up interest from the few who wanted to buy that very specific color.

It sure seems like Eruption Green was popular enough in the rotation to stick around, but it's also possible (actually, absolutely certain) that Ford did the research math that confirmed that most prospective Maverick owners who wanted EG as a color went and bought an EG Maverick in 2025, and thus keeping it a second year and beyond would have rapidly diminishing returns.

Plus, the business pattern is self-reinforcing-- buyers now know when the "fun" colors come out, they're going to be limited edition colors, so for all those buyers who want that very specific color, well, you better go buy your truck this year before your chance is gone!
It's all part of marketing.

You re thinking of British Racing Green, which has a touch of black in it to enrich the color. It was a great color in its day! I bought the red Maverick and love the color!

Blue interior clashes with certain colors which cheapens the the look of the truck. Eruption green is a nice color but I didn't like it with the blue interior bits. Black onyx seats (charcoal) mean you have dark gray panels on doors and dash. This looks to me, more quality. Lighter gray speckled panels with blue seats is not a rich combination-looks cheaper. I think the XL has the best standard cloth seat color combo. Everything else looks better with BAP. My opinion only. As I always say, "your money, your decision"

I'm a big fan of green painted vehicles and was really excited when I saw a photo of an eruption green painted Mav. I was excited enough that I considered trading in my silver coloured 2022 eco boost Mav for a 2025 eruption green hybrid.
My local Ford dealer had an eruption green painted Mav on their lot, so I went down to take a look at it. I'd seen that colour on the Bronco and Bronco sport and thought it looked great, but for some reason I didn't like it on the Maverick when I saw the vehicle in person.
I found it depends on the lighting. When my EG is in the shade, I can see more blue/evergreen color. When it's in the sun, then it looks like there's a yellow undertone with the metallic sheen. But you walk around it, and the color seems to change. =)

In 1977, the Porsche 911 came out with one that was ice green. Very nice color. Liked the car, too. When we sold it, I was the one who was crying as she rolled down the driveway.

My 2 door explorer (back in the day) was a dark green, almost British Racing Green, with a secondary color along the bottom of tan that matched the leather interior. That would have been mid 90's. Awesome color combination....

If I read it right. Eruption Green is also no longer available on the Mach E for 2026
Have not seen any information of Broncos. Maybe across the whole Ford lineup cut?

Hadn't heard this. Where was it stated?
It was made clear at the beginning of the 25 run that Eruption green was going to be a one model year run. There's no why are they discontinuing the colour. It was stated from the get go.

I put out a lot of offers and the one that got back to me happened to be Eruption Green (with the black appearance package). Don't know if I would've picked it, but I certainly don't mind it - it's a nice looking truck.
