Who "stepped down" to XL because of the ugly interior color choices of XLT? (Not because of cost savings)

The lariat is what I really want, but just can't do it because of that brown interior. Bring on the orange! I want style, not the "serious adult" look. I actually wish they designed it with colored seatbelts too, that would be perfect
I don't understand people's knee jerk reaction against the "brown" interior of the lariat. It's a very natural looking leather color. I was pleasantly surprised by my lariat - the interior is a very nice place to be and the color scheme goes together well. Give me natural looking (and super comfy) leatherette over cheap cloth seats any day

I mean the trucks name is "MAVERICK", unusual accent colors are to be expected for the mid-tier that they expect most people to buy. I think the orange accents are fun; of course I'm one of the targeted city folk that they are appealing to.
I dislike the orange accents as it looks like a Black & Decker color

I like interiors that actually show some restrained style. Although it was a very polarizing vehicle, the BMW I3 came with some awesome interior palettes. Alas, in an automotive world where scale matters and you don't want to offend anyone, bland rules the day. That's true for both interior and exterior styling. It's 90% mashed peas these days.

You can take the trays out... I wanted the locking tailgate and keypad entry.

I picked the XL for the darker seats. Orange accents don't bother me on the XLT, but I don't like the lighter seats. I won't buy vinyl seats either, so the Lariat was out by default.

I like the XLT interior, in fact, prefer it. Besides, orange and blue (mine is Alto Blue) are Gator colors. And orange and black match up to Harley Davidson. Win-win in all cases.

I think just you. 😂

I stepped up to the Lariat, but I’d rather have the XLT interior.
I went with the xlt with lux, because of the ugly lariat interior

XLT has grown on me with the exception of the White Door Panels and the White Dashboard (I mean the orange bits are mostly swappable and the seats look better in person than in photos). They just look so absolutely out of place. Will be interesting to see what MY2024 does for the XLT interior before I answer the original poster's questions

One of the reasons I bought the XLT was the interior color.
I had Lowes color match me a quart of orange paint for my bed divider boards.

xlt looks like its trying too hard to be showy and edgy, neither fit my personality or desire to be noticed.
Just seems a weak attempt. Actually think the design teams needs to not use color as a shortcut to establish a certain view that appeals to an imaginary target that is different from a common existing customer.
