Scratches in the bed? - Who cares its a work truck that makes money for the company not some collectors item that sits in a garage that we only drive on sunny days. Scratches in the bed and dirt in the interior are just what happens when you use trucks as they were intended. The vehicle is not abused & is maintained per the schedule and goes to the car wash every week or so but I'm not getting bent out of shape over some scratches in the bed.
Sacriledge! :cwl:

Honestly, surprised by the number of folks who went without protection.

OK, but then their sales numbers are lower which means less perks like discounts and allocations. Just goes to show you that owning a business and appearing to be wealthy doesn't mean you are smart.
Most dealers make more money in the garage than on the sales floor. Part of the reason why many are resistant to the "no maintenance" EV. My dealer goes so far to pay their salespeople salary. I've often joked it is a quick lube that sells cars.

It's called raw doggin' it, baby. No bed liner, no PPF, no hood deflector, no ceramic. Love the look of the painted bed, too. HPR, VB, Eruption green, etc.

Less is more, as in more payload (and save $). I started out at 1501 lbs. I've got the cap, bam bed and few accessories, brining it closer to 1300 lbs. The Lariat 4KT starts at around 1300 and the payload goes down as you add stuff. I've spent $4,800 on accessories, including a winter wheelset and I barely have anything. Not even tailgate assist. $4800 on 15 things. No mas.

That's why we say raw dog the bed. You can always get it sprayed later. There is A LOT to spend on when you think about it. Especially a bed cover.

That is all true. I know all about " operating cost absorption" after being a Service Manager for 18 years at a Motorcycle Dealership. The Ford dealer I use is 100 miles away from and also pays their salespeople salary. I have 2 local dealers that are both "add a huge markup and play games all day trying to get a fair deal" kind of dealers. That doesn't work for my wife and I.

I'm curious who opted to not have a bed liner? I did not order one simply because I thought I could get it done locally a little cheaper. But I do think trucks look great without the liner but then they get scratched up. So who doesn't have one and why?
On my 2022 I ordered it with bed liner, but dealer canceled it as it was gonna hold up the order as ford was having problems with bed liner so I got local x-liner put in, only problem was they sprayed over the plugs and bottom cover on left rear of bed, oh well I will know next time to tell them what not to spray over

I can never figure out why someone would add a spray on bedliner and cover up a perfectly good bed that they are trying to keep from getting scratched. To me, it would make more sense to use the bed if it gets scratched up and ugly, then spray line it. I’m not a big fan of the plastic liners because I just don’t think they look as good as the factory paint. When I haul stuff, I put down moving blankets and position things so that they don’t rub. That being said I’m not a construction and I don’t haul very much.

Every time I try to build something without a bed liner, I know my OCD ass would be in the bed trying to keep the water spots out if I didn't 🤣

I'd probably be okay with just a mat, but as much as I spray the bed out I figure it's just easier.

Really depends on your needs/wants. But not getting one to save pennies is a good choice as there are many options to accommodate similar features.

I think one of the main reasons though is to get vehicles through production faster. Dealers love selling you trucks with no bed liners and marked up interior packages on base models, then you end up with nothing fancy but somehow a sunroof too and something labeled "premium audio" but not quite the B&O?!?! Lots of that crap in the Escapes and Broncos. So that's another consideration. Saves FORD money and makes FORD money.

Bed mat and tonneau. The bed is just a big car trunk for me. I don't need heavy duty. A rubber mat keeps stuff from sliding around.

A colored SIBL or mat would be favorable. I would rather the truck paint color than black.

My truck came without a bed liner; Initially I was going to buy the drop in liner but decided not to due to the cost (my other trucks both had a liner).
I opted for the bed mat from Muslogy and gator tonneau cover and am very happy with that combination. (Plus reasonable $)
I also installed the tailgate liner from Ford which is a must have imo 😎

Bought a mat at Homedepot. Cut it to fit. Got a tonneau cover off ebay. I'm happy.

Very nice.
A nice looking functional bed mat and a cut/slice proof hard functional tri fold tonneau cover. 👍
I'm right there with you. The same tonneau cover and my ugly but very functional slide-out bed tray.
Just a side thought.....
I wonder if you had left the bed mat and the tailgate mat connected. If it would fold fine where the gap is and pull tight when the tailgate is down???

I was on the fence about getting one then the first day I had my truck I went to Costco and bought a toilet, literally on the way home from the dealer.
I set the box on the lowered tailgate and pushed it into the truck and it left scratches in the bed just from whatever dust was there.

If you care at all about your truck looking good, or resale value, just get a spray in and be done with it.

I have my own home made kit of old blankets and tie downs to use when I put something in the bed. I know my bed ain't going to remain perfect, but this idea has worked so far. I've hauled mulch, bricks, a front door, 3 interior doors, a large chair and dirty boxes. The blankets and tie downs worked great. Especially if you use the blankets to slide the items onto the truck bed.

Was $10 after points. (see my sig for a coupon, if Ford site doesn't show one)

Best thing - it flattens the bed. Foam contours underneath fill the bed stamping to make a level surface and adds padding for kneeling/etc. Outdoor carpet finish - makes sliding things in/out easy and no sandpaper effect on your stuff. Toss a rubber mat on top if you don't want things to slide or use your tie downs.

The non-Ford sites sell a version that covers your side and bulkhead too - but $10 was my preferred budget.
