It might be a good idea to put in a hidden kill switch. Anyone have suggestions on which fuse to use on an ecoboost? I was thinking fuel pump unless someone has a better idea. Also open to suggestions on where to locate the switch.

Naw, not the fuel pump but ignition; as fuel pump will burn out with many tries to start. At least that was the conventional wisdom of old.

What? LOL

How exactly is an electric fuel pump going to burn out if it's not powered?

Hmm. Not powered, so you want a battery disconnect? As the kill switch? Which on my last car, the switch was off the ignition circuit. So, she had power to windows, doors and radio but couldn't start car.

I have a Ravelco device installed on my new TRX because Hell Cat cars and trucks are unfortunately so easy to steal, but that's overkill on a Maverick...... Ravelco is the best anti-theft device though..

Be careful about messing with circuits. Fuel pump example if the solenoid that turns on the pump BUT if that solenoid fails or you put a switch inline oil pressure switch by cranking engine will turn pump on. its a backup if solenoid should fail. so messing around with circuits might not do what you want and void your warranty. Do something like JohnKN did.

Honestly I will probably do nothing. The built in anti theft isn't too bad and I agree that messing with circuits in a vehicle this computer integrated is asking for trouble. I have an used explorer that some idiot wired an aftermarket remote start unit into it. Killed the cruise control and high beams and it's a damned rats nets of wires going to the unit. If I want something like that it's coming from the factory or not at all.

I wired in a simple toggle switch on the ground side of the fuel pump on one of my other cars
and hid it in the door jamb. Even if the thief figures out the pump isn't running, they will inevitably try to hot wire with no success.

That's a rather old school description of fuel pump circuit operation. Pretty much all nowadays are PWM/variable output driven by a controller to facilitate a returnless fuel system.

Also not uncommon for modern fuel pumps to prime as soon as you open the door or insert (but haven't yet turned) they key. So adding a switch that disables the circuit would likely set a DTC which may or may not trigger a CEL.

Worry about your catalytic converter. Doubt many are trying to boost 22’s least expensive pickup.
