Could it be the chime for the lane centering/stay-in-lane canceling due to it being unable to read the lane markers/strips?

I believe that’s only when in reverse.
It also emits a low audible humming sound while in EV mode when the vehicle is in drive at very low speeds. People notice it right away when I'm driving in our underground parking at work. When I drive past people, I hear them comment that my truck sounds like a spaceship 😄. It's more noticeable on pure electric vehicles, but I can hear it quite well on my Mavy.

... my wife's Scooby-Doo (Subaru) chirps when ever you cross the speed limit. Only once, but happens every time you cross over.
I've had two Subies and they're great cars - although they can often become money pits with age. One of the things I cannot stand about them though, is all the nanny-isms they have. So many stupid annoyances.

Mine makes a chirping or "chime-like" sound whenever I put it in reverse. I'm assuming that, since 99% of the time it's in full-EV mode when backing up, the noise is there to warn pedestrians of a nearly-silent vehicle backing up.

Make sure any driving assist items are not set to alert (lane keeping, etc.)

IIRC, on the Hybrid Maverick, reverse is all-electric. If the ICE is running while backing up, it's to charge the battery system and or produce heat for the cab or truck components.

Long shot but... Blow off valve? Haven't driven one of the EBs to know how loud it is in one but the sound of a turbo dumping boost always sounded like a chirp to me.

If you're talking about the hybrid, it's required by law (at least here in the USA) to make an audible sound (chirping, humming, etc ) while in electric mode to warn pedestrians.
i did not know that. i was aware that some PHEV's / BHEV's had driver selectable noises for when the vehicle was in drive and or reverse warning sounds ala the Mav. i wasnt aware it was mandated by Law here in the states.

i for one think thats a good thing. the very 1st time Wifey & i went for a test drive in a Mav it was so quiet we were wondering if it was running or not until the 'ready to drive' message came up LOL

I just picked my new 2024 Maverick EB Lariat FX4 with 4k tow package and rode it around a bit. Love the drive.

I noticed a chirping. Drove me nuts. Figured out it only happens when the back sliding window is open. And not all the time. Thinking the dry weather is making the new rubber chirp. I love the window open so I will investigate a fix.

Sharing in case it is helpful.
