I could use some advice.

I place an order for a Hybrid XLT last September when the order banks opened. The dealer wasnt charging above MSRP and only required a $500 deposit. This was a first time order, not a rollover.
I just received my "still sorry but you're still not getting one" email from Ford. If these come once every 45 days, I'm not sure if i will get another update before the order banks for 24 open and close.
I know that Ford is still supposed to continue 23 builds through the summer.
Do I wait out my current build?
Do I put another deposit down on a 24? If so, do I try another dealer?
I'm only interested in the Hybrid.

I check the inventory of the local Toyota dealer every day. If a model that I like comes in, adios Hermosillo. Never owned a Ford before, but the lil truck looked interesting.
My last "American" car was a brand new 1980 Chevy Citation. Cured me of the "Big Three". The only good part of that car was the motor. The rest was crap. Since then, GM to me, has become General Junk.

If you haven't been scheduled for your 23 by the time the 24 order banks open, you should absolutely put in a new order, baring any massive price increase or whatnot.

Regardless of that email you could be scheduled this next week.

I agree with a lot of that. Im a Toyota guy...but a hybrid pick up that seats at least 4 for a relatively low price sold me. Im also playing the long game on Toyota's rival to the Mav.

See if you can find out how many mavericks your dealer has got in to see if their allocations are decent or suck.

Then decide if you want to loan someone $500 for no reason for another year or look around for another dealer that might have better allocations and no deposit.

You must know something that no one else on the planet knows . . . that a Fubar is way better than any of the best selling vehicles ever.
Party on.

My Lariat hybrid was built in March. My wife's Lariat hybrid is being built in June. I flew to Detroit and bought her an XLT hybrid while thinking hers would never be built. Both of them GREAT. Wish you were not so far away, would treat you right on the 23 XLT, Area 51, Lux, CP 360, bedliner, tonneau cover, graphics, tint, etc. with 3K on it

I would find a dealer that does not require a deposit and order a MY2024 from them, whether your MY2023 comes in or not. Since there is a year's wait, you may need the MY2024, like if your order does come in and is involved in an accident or something.

My dealer would not take a deposit, and my MY2022 was delivered after I waited 17 months.

Given how easily they total out Mavericks, I'm tempted to order a 2024 just in case my 2023 gets into an accident! I'm thinking a year wait for a Hybrid is not going to change before 2026! By all means, order a 2024 if your 2023 has not been scheduled!

The "good old days" of same day new car buying are gone (unless maybe you want a full-size pickup). They may return someday, but I think that will be years away. Since Ford is unable or unwilling to manufacture Mavericks, and most particularly Hybrid Mavericks, I plan on ordering a Hybrid Maverick every time the order book opens for a few days. I presume that only every other order will actually be built.

The most amusing thing about this situation is that nice Mr. Farley has stated that he wants to move Ford to a customer order model, instead of building vehicles for dealer stock. Then he makes Maverick, Bronco and other customers wait for YEARS to deliver vehicles. Instead of increasing production of vehicles that people want to buy, Ford focuses on EV production. I just read an article that said Ford loses $60,000 on each EV.

I am pretty sure that MY2024 Mavericks will be significantly more expensive.

Here is an idea. When the 24MY order banks open, go to the same dealer and ask for them to order one but no deposit on THIS one. If the 23MY one comes in GREAT and tell the dealer you'll sell them it for $500 over MSRP. Everyone wins.
