You don’t have to accept delivery.

Barely. Adverb.

by the smallest amount; only just:

Maybe just turn the truck down and wait until you get on your feet better.

Great question. I'd have to tighten the family belt for at least 4 years to afford. Not sure it's worth that. I current drive a Mercedes e class diesel with great power and mpg that serves me and the family well. I might but be able afford the payments but am looking for better option than outright rejection.

You know what you need to do. Not accept deliver if you can't afford it. Get your deposit back.

But I think most of us are wondering why? I understand it's personal to a degree, but are you looking to get something newer under warranty and more fuel efficient than your current vehicle? What was the reason for ordering? I don't think anyone needs to know what changed since then but if you can't afford it, then you can't afford it. Don't go broke over a depreciating asset. There are MANY other options to consider.

Instead of a 6 year loan, will a 7 year loan make it easier to afford? Spread it out and try to make 6 year payments so the loan is done in 6 years.

I can help with this question because I had a 2022 Mercedes GLC that I sold as I was buying my 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat. Mercedes wins on build quality. Don’t expect to profit on a flip in this market, because it will be a gamble, especially after you pay taxes. Mercedes depreciates quickly so you will take a big hit if you trade or sell the Mercedes. If you can’t pay cash for a Maverick, then why would you want to take a high interest loan? If money is tight, then only get the Maverick if it improves your economic situation. Remember it is a cheap truck and Mercedes is really well built vehicle. You could always go to pick it up and ask for a test drive. A Mercedes and a Ford Maverick are 2 entirely different animals. I do like my Maverick, but my other vehicle is a BMW X3, so it was a competitor to my Mercedes. My Mercedes was a sexy red AMG package, but it was missing features due to the chip shortage. That is why I let it go. I paid cash for the Maverick, so no car payment.

As someone who has been car poor, don't do it.
I don't know how much "tightening the family belt" means though, are we talking about going out for dinner 4 times a week instead of 5 times or are we talking about buying mac n cheese and ramen in bulk and giving the kids bowl haircuts?

If you NEED to get out of your Mercedes because of reliability or it just not fitting your family's needs that's one thing but if you have a reliable vehicle it's tough to justify a new car that you can't really afford.

Well, color me confused then. If you are happy with what you have, and know a new vehicle will hurt you financially, then what are you asking? What is the intention of this pos?

You are not hurting anyones feelings by not accepting delivery (well, maybe previous posters but they are banned now so HA!). They will sell the truck just fine.

The MSRP on that build is $30, 335. What kind of sales tax & fee's are adding $4K, or are you including a dealer ADM? I don't see any way to purchase and flip that makes you any money.

NO, DON'T SELL IT. Things like this always work out and there is always something in your budget to cut?
