I have a question for all you guys. Should I trade in my 2023 XLT Hybrid with a 2024 XLT Hybrid?

I took delivery of my XLT Hybrid almost a year ago and I loved it. So far 8,600 miles on the odometer and I am about to do the 2nd oil change. I also ordered a 24 one since at the time it's not sure that my 23 order will be honored. Today I got an email saying it is scheduled to production in late August.

Should I sell my 23 XLT and buy the 24 XLT? Is there a way to minimize loss and get the truck almost at no additional charge?

Have you checked Carvana or any of the other similar companies to establish this current value of your 2023? Then you have to add in sales taxes, title fees, and documentation fees, plus any model year price increase before you can even break even.

Since I'm not a hybrid owner, I don't keep track of current values but it seems a long shot to me that you'll break even, never mind have a gain to maximize. The market has changed and even hybrids are not as hard to come by as they once were, AFAIK.

According to KBB, the truck is worth $28-$30k.

I think the new truck's sticker with everything including TTL is like $30k.

I know it's not a profitable time, but if I can get a brand new truck with minimum loss, I am guessing it's a good deal?

I know I am totally bombed out about not able to geet the built-in keypad in FY24. I find myself use that keypad ALL-THE-TIME. Especially when I have a hand full of stuff and it's in convenient to pull the keys out.

That being said, I am wondering about the longevity of the truck. Getting a new one will ensure I always have a young heart. If you know what I mean.

I would not make this swap unless you can get a significantly better interest rate, which I doubt. If you paid cash or have (close to) the same finance rate as last year, this is a loss for no good reason.

Your '23 is still new enough and you aren't stepping up to Lariat, so I don't see a good reason to switch.
