New to this crazy process so be gentle. Ordered a Lariat last September with no constraints. Dealer called me last week to tell me my priority code dropped from 19-15.
In English, what does this mean? Thank you

That your dealer is not your friend.

The lower the number the better, 19 is the worst you can get but is the default. Retail orders get dealer assigned codes of 10-19. 10 is best. Under 10 can only be assigned by Ford and usually means Ford is starting to work on your truck.

If your dealer was your friend you would be at 10. However, your dealer MAY have 2022 orders that got moved over to 2023 in which case those should get the lower codes and 2023 NEW orders should get slightly higher codes. The only way to know is ask your dealer who may or may not tell you.

NOTE: these codes between 10-19 are assigned by your DEALER and if they say otherwise they are lying to you.

At least you are moving in the right direction. Worse would be to be stuck at 19.

Would not hurt to ask them to move it to a 10. Not always the case, but it seems most 10's get built unless the stupid allocations come into play.

The issue is only how many OTHER orders your dealer has, and what their priority is. If your dealer has 10 at priority 10 (they set it at the dealership, between 10 and 19) and you are at PC 15...well, you are at the end of the line. If the other 10 are at priority 19, then you are at the FRONT of the line.

I was submitted as a PC 19, but my dealer had ZERO other Maverick orders, so I didn't squawk. I knew I was first, middle and last, all at once. Do try to get them to set it at 10, if they will, but they may have older orders and are trying to be fair to all orderers.

But remember, that PC is only meaningful at your dealership, waiting to get an allocation from Ford. No allocation; no build...even if you are first in line.

I walked into the dealership a couple months ago and asked them to drop the hitch on my XLT Hybrid and could they give me a priority code 10 ! The answer was yes and they gave me print out of the change.

Mine was pc 19 and it shipped in a reasonable time. I think this would be more of a concern if your dealership sold a lot of mavericks

Dealers were asked by Ford to only give 10 to rollovers. Any dealer that decided to give 10's to new orders was screwing folks that had ordered a year earlier. Even Long McArthur only gave new orders beginning at priority 15...

Not exactly....you implied a dealer could set 10 if they didn't have any rollovers is what I understood from your post. Ford preferred only the rollovers got a 10 so even dealers with no rollovers shouldn't have given 10's to new orders..

"Shouldn't". But not all dealers followed the rules.

And I didn't "imply" that, I stated it. Because they can and have. Not all dealers are honest or even understood the rules.

My dealer set my new order at a 10. I think because I was knowledgeable and polite. Not ensure if they had roll overs or not, but I wasn't going to complain.

I love the truck, been driving it since mid February.

A dealer with only 1 Mav order? My bet is they tell that to all of their Maverick customers. And you are right, the allocation is everything. Allocation total is easy to figure because it is based on last year's sales. Dealers should have warned people they did not have enough allocations to fill all the orders they took last Sept.

With about twice hybrid orders vs capacity, buyers at dealers with not enough allocations are going to be very upset when they find out their Mav will never get built. My channel has videos that can help those who are waiting.

One more important fact, the dealer sets the priority code not Ford. They can easily change that number - but it will not matter if they are out of allocations.

Ask your dealer where you stand in their line vs how many allocations they have.

Where do I collect my winnings? Note my Wyoming location. Having the biggest truck is important to folks here and a Maverick is no prize here (except to a very, very few of us)..

My dealership only sold five EBs and one Hybrid for their 2022 orders. Of the Five (they were delivered), one went to a Coloradan, one went to a Nebraskan, and I don't know who got the other 3 as I only saw one in town until recently. The one 2022 Hybrid order was me...and it was cancelled/reordered/delivered as a 2023. The dealership wasn't fibbing when they told me my 2023 was the ONLY 2023 Maverick ordered. Their Super-Duty truck orders far exceed their allocations.

There are now 3 of us in our town of 33,000: One 2022 EB, one 2023 Tremor (that was bought elsewhere) and my 2023 Hybrid. Sounds like there would have been 4-5 more 2023 allocations unused at my dealer. Not sure what that will translate to in 2024 orders.
